But what other big specialty monster would it be? We've got a demon, a vampire, and a dragon with each requiring specific preparations to fight.

What other iconic monsters would we slay? An ogre? Troll? Maybe a hydra?
Ghost.
We.. probably couldn't call the quest Ghost Hunter, might be some copyright there...

but that's the one big thing we've never actually HUNTED. In Broken Home we played what was ultimately a glorified game of cat and mouse. In Restless Ghost we helped the spirit of a dead priest find peace. In the Curse of Zaros, we ran around and talked to a bunch of ghosts related to the downfall of Zaros and rise of Zamorak.
We've never actually hunted one before. So that's something we could throw out there.

I like the ghost idea aswell. I was thinking perhaps a group of malevolent spirits possessing members of a town or village. We arrive and learn of a string of murders and are asked to interrogate the suspect only to learn they have no recollection of their actions. Throw in some good ol' detective work and maybe an undiscovered God wars tomb under the village and some ancient curses or sealed evil and I think you've got yourself a solid quest.

If you've ever heard of "Eidolons" Greek spirits that live off hosts and are otherwise unseen, that's the kind of vibe I'm going for. Could make for some cool horror aspects and a nice twist on the traditional monster hunter formula when you realise the thing you're hunting and the people you're trying to protect are one.

I was surprised to see the "Slayer" quests in the poll myself. I had never thought of them as a "series" before, since they weren't really related, but I guess it makes sense.

Demon Slayer: We learn about the demon's history, track down an item needed to kill it, then kill it.
Dragon Slayer: We learn about the dragon's history, track down an item needed to kill it, procure a way to reach said dragon, then kill it.
Vampire Slayer: We learn about the vampire, track down an item needed to kill it, then kill it.

I'm just wondering what else there would really be. Ghost Slayer sounds dumb. Beast Slayer seems a bit vague. If it wasn't limited to "Slayer" that would make it easier, I guess. Ghost Hunter. (Prayer and combat xp.) Big Game Hunting. (Hunter and combat xp.)

I think the "Hunter" tag would definitely be appropriate for coming up with some exciting new "monster hunting" quests. And although as mentioned before some of the "Slayer" quests get a bit repetitive, I do enjoy that they are mini-adventures by themselves. Standalone mini-epics, if you will. I'd like to see more quests in that vein, and bring us back to that satisfying feeling of completing early RS quests.
