Just noticing - why didn't anyone ever talk about Kharshai schtupping Trindine? Y'all think that will ever come up again?

Not sure if it will come up again, but I did certainly notice. *files that one under "important story fodder details"*

Today, Dethal and I had a talk and we discussed the idea of giving control of the Lore FC account to someone else, as I expressed my concern that he was no longer active enough to respond to FC issues in a timely manner. Although Dethal has the final say in this, he has given me permission to post this on the thread and to gather the opinions of the FC's members on what should be done.

There are a few questions I would like to ask the members of the FC regarding this matter:

-Do you think the FC would benefit from having someone other than Dethal in charge?

-If so, who do you think should be given control of the FC and why?

-Is there any feedback you would like to give Dethal to better run the FC?

I suppose I should give my own opinion on the matter. While I have a great deal of respect for Dethal, I have recently begun to doubt his ability to run the FC. Due to his recent inactivity, he has been unavailable when he has been needed to help sort out issues in the FC, and in general I believe he has been passive in the way he handles things in the FC. While it is a good idea for the owner of the FC not to be too controlling and to approach situations with a cautious mindset, I believe that there is also a time and place for the owner to take a more hands-on approach and be proactive in dealing with potential problems.

If someone else were in charge of the FC, I believe that I would be a good choice. Although I have made mistakes in the past, I believe I have learned from those mistakes and would take care to listen to the members of the FC and not abuse my power. I have always been eager to help the members of the FC with their problems, tried see all sides of an issue, and done my best to respect people regardless of faction or other arbitrary dividing factors. I also have some experience with being in a position of power, being the leader of a small clan.

If not myself, I believe that Jaina and Helring would both also be good choices.

Just going to say a few things here:

1) I should note that in my time on the Clan Leader Forums, I saw a J Mod note that sharing alternate untrained accounts is within the rules, but they highly discourage it in case someone takes total control of the account and there is nothing J Mods can do to stop it.

2) With that said, I'm sure this is a controversial issue, even among J Mods, and some of them might not take to kindly to the idea being advertised on this thread....so...I'd avoid broadcasting it, personally. If ownership changes, it should be discreet.

3) I have no particularly strong opinion here. The FC has been fine, so it's not like we're in a dilema. Personally, I find Dethal to be one of the most trustworthy people we could get regarding the FC's management. I haven't agreed with all of his choices, but I admire his integrity. However, sometimes life does get in the way...if he feels he is just too busy to manage the FC, then I understand if he wants to step down. As to whether he has the time to do it or not...I think that's best reserved for his own judgement.

4) This is Dethal's alternate account. And while I do have a J Mod quote saying that noob account sharing is technically legal, this would still be a sensetive issue, even if I found 5 J Mods saying this is perfectly fine. If this ends up happening, then FC members should feel free to give Dethal their own opinions on who should run the FC......but I really don't think putting a sanctioned vote is a good idea. F Mods are certainly going to have a field day, we'd have a lot of posts hdiden, some members banned from the forums, and the thread itself could be closed down.

I'm just warning everyone whoever wants Dethal gone...you probably won't get to vote for the next FC owner. Dethal is as uncontroversial of an FC owner as it can get. If he's replaced, you might not like his successor and you will probably be stuck with them.

Just to be clear BTW, this is not a vote. Dethal and I agreed that having a vote would cause some problems, so we decided it would be best if we simply gave the FC members a chance to state their opinions and left the final decision up to him.

Yes, while I have nothing against Dethal, he's been inactive for some time.

I think Sky Jexel would make a great FC owner. He's proven himself to be active in the game and very dutiful as a mod, taking care of the riffraff and whatnot. He seems to have taken it upon himself to address the issues of people causing trouble and the owner's inactivity.
I will protect Gielinor. Zaros has no love for its people.

I'd like to note here that I don't feel I'm too busy to do this. I just spent some time with family and friends during the holidays. Oh and I had to save Gotham city too. That's all done now.

But all opinions are welcome and allow me to make more informed decisions in the future.
I'm pretty cool

Aww, but I wanna be God Emperor...

No, but in all seriousness, I'm not sure I agree that there is an inactivity problem on that end that isn't just handled by generals.

Can you name any specific scenarios that would have been eased by Dethal's presence?

The only situations we need Dethal for that a general can't handle are:

1) Perma banning a user, which is a rare and extreme situation. Not only can generals apply a temporary fix by making an agreement to constantly ban the user if it's truly out of hand (spamming), but most of the time, the situation is better handled by talking it out. And honestly, we shouldn't need Dethal to babysit and a mediate a bunch of grown ass men.

2) Dealing with power abuse from generals. This is much harder for generals to deal with and does need Dethal's help, but this is also a rare situation and while there has been the occassional issue....I'll leave it at that.
