What makes you think they might get a connection to the anima mundi?

What makes you think they might get a connection to the anima mundi? It was a suggestion thrown about a little while after...Tuska I think. I just hope it has not been brushed aside or forgotten. Not a player suggestion but ....Mod Osbourne...maybe? Hard to remember exactly, so many streams and vids to keep straight

The answer is convoluted.

They've scrapped ideas that would have been Godless only.
They've only got so much developer time to go around so making quests focused on them was hard to do already.
Sliske was their creator's pet. along with Zaros/Sueros.

The Godless also suffered from the lack of a deity or individual who could match up to the other gods.
Tack on Invention getting taken away from them ... and what are they? just a bunch of "No Gods" protestors.
Vorago was the closest thing in lore that wasn't already a god (ie: V, Guthix) that could at least go toe to toe with the likes of a T4 god. Even that was more of an "alliance of convenience" or "common goal" that anything else.

finally, I'm not sure how into the whole "factional" thing players really are.
sure players can pick a side, but it technically doesn't really do all that much for you in game besides some flavor text, xp, and a title.

Honestly, they need to not advance the Elder Storyline anymore until the Godless, Guthixians, and Armadyleans all get their quests.

(Bandosian Remnants, and the next Ser Owen quest, and introductions for *all* the Menaphite Gods too?)

There is no Guthxian faction. Guthix is dead so let it rest already. Death is Guthixian and he played a major roll in Nomad's Elegy. Also we already have Guthixian memories and memorial to Guthix that is more than enough for a dead god.

We need Godless content and we need to meet Tumeken and Eldinis and the rest of the pantheon. Sir Owen quest need to wait since it is a series of bringing back the centaurs. I doubt it can fit in one quest.

There is joy in combat that can't be found anywhere else.

I was talking more about the Guardians like Juna and Valluta and maybe Crux Equal or something (My focus is more on the Godless, obviously, I'm just saying that we shouldn't forget these other important characters). And I literally said that we need to meet the rest of the Pantheon. As for Ser Owen, I'm saying the next quest in his story, not the conclusion to it.

Jagex already said that they don't want to make quests and then add on the sequels years after. They want to tell the story so it remains fresh. The Elf quests took forever and by the time Plague's End came I hardly remembered what happened. So Sir Owen's quests can't come out now since we are focusing on The Pantheon and perhaps the Godless and the Elder Gods and maybe Rite of Passage.

Valluta and Fiara died for some in TWW so they won't make quests about them since they are not important.

There is joy in combat that can't be found anywhere else.

Valluta didn't die. The options were Fiara and Thaerisk for death.

Technically, Bandos is dead yet there are still Bandosians.
Just because a god is dead, doesn't necessarily mean one of the ideals they uphold is dead as well. (Sort of like a political party.)

There are a few differences between the Godless and Guthixians.
Guthixians aren't necessarily known for a willingness to wage war for their ideals. It's not that they won't fight back or defend themselves, and there are groups like the void knights. But if they are fighting, it's almost defensive in nature against a specific threat.
The Godless however were willing to take the fight to other factions. And while we've only see the factions siding with Kara Meir, and there are Godless that would be ok with "peaceful coexistence", there are a fair enough number in the "kill 'em all" category.
