So correct me if I'm wrong, but we've only ever had three tier 2 gods in RuneScape's history. That was Seren, Zaros, and Guthix.
Does Guthix seem to be a bit of an outlier here? Think about it. Zaros has called the other gods "young gods" because, unlike him, they were mortal beings that ascended to power by gathering vast amounts of power left over from the Elder Gods, usually by using Elder Artifacts. Seren and Zaros are different, however, because they were
never
mortal, they were directly created by the Elder God Mah, putting them on a whole different level of power from the young gods.
And then there's . . . Guthix.
We know how Guthix ascended. He killed Skargaroth and absorbed his power using the Elder Sword. This is a very similar method to how other mortals (such as Zamorak) ascended to power.
So why is Guthix on a totally different level from the other young gods? Why is he so strong?
I don't know if there is an answer to this question. If you have an answer, please enlighten me. If you have theories, I'm open to those too.
