I don't think Zammy was ever up to die he has been a mod favorite for a long while now. Armadyl is hard to say but I doubt they'd do that since he is the second most popular god in emissary followers. The faction I could see on the chopping block would be the godless. They don't have the same popularity as other factions and unlike other factions to fully explore them it would require looking into a lot of different characters with different backstories and if they can't even get out Saradomin and Armadyl lore I think it would be that much more difficult to get godless lore out.

I really hope they do. This isn't even because I don't like Armadyl. It's just that he's such a pointless clone of Saradomin, but much less interesting. Just let him die and spend the extra time on Saradomin. Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

There has to be some desire in him he has 22% of the emissary polls. Tbh something I have noticed and I wonder how many people that align themselves with Armadyl actually like Armadyl for himself, it seems a lot of people are more interested in learning about the aviansie and going to abbinah.

I mean RoP has a lot of support but it really isn't about Armadyl and was never meant to be it going to feature the aviansie and their customs which I almost wonder if people want that more than they actually want Armadyl and they just align with Armadyl since any content from him will also include the aviansie.

Yeah I don't find him interesting at all. he needs more lore. He can't just be about Aviansie and a few human followers and that's all he's about. His lore needs expansion first. Unlike Saradomin who needs his lore expanding to show off his character Armadyl needs races and stories to build up his faction.

I still think adding Giants as an Armadylean race would work well. As well as introducing a couple of gods into his second age story, who's names already would appear in the game. Right now he has a naive notion about living in peace when every piece of evidence says that would never work right now.

They can also explore some other concepts with him. The lack of concepts of justice being mentioned so far is kind of a shame.

Honestly, he's not even needed for the Aviansie. Jagex all but outright stated this during WE2. He doesn't offer the same amount of interesting content with them that Gods like Zamorak and Zaros do with the Mahjarrat, or hell even the demons/vyres considering their long lifespan.

None of these Aviansie personally know Arma or have any real history with him or vice versa. He could be dead and it'd make almost no difference. Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. Zamorak and Zaros are kind of a bad example here because you're comparing gods that have a lot of content to gods that have no content, but now Zamorak, Zaros, and the Mahjarrat are definitely getting the effect of saturation we've had so much of them its just getting boring.

But armadyl does need some fleshing out, maybe some aviansie on abbinah that liked it better while he was gone. In MPD there seemed to be hints at this already-

Player: Has Armadyl returned?
Flight Kilisa: Armadyl is back. Our people will unite once more and take to the skies.
Flockleader Geerin: Unite? Even when Armadyl left us we stood strong against those who opposed us.
Flight Kilisa: And now he will take us beneath his wing. No longer will we be lost, we will rise to the clouds!
Flockleader Geerin: I remain cautious, what if he were to abandon us again?
Flight Kilisa: He thought us destroyed! Armadyl will give us new hope and bring justice to the realm of the gods. He won't leave us again... He can't.
Flockleader Geerin: He has grieved our dead long enough. We must take action or join them in the eternal flight.
Flight Kilisa: Glory to the aviansie!

Geerin doesn't seem to be completely sold on Armadyl and he is supposed to be one of the faction's higher ups being Kree's body guard.

Even Saradomin's relationship with the Icyene is more interesting, primarily because of their long lifespans. Both sides could have a huge history with each other. And it's possible, though unlikely, that there could be some living Icyene that knew Saradomin when he was human. Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. How does one kill of the godless? Kill them all?

Honestly I kind of pictured it being like made a faction within a faction.

I could see Garlandia siding with Zamorak, Ux siding with Saradomin, Fossil siding with Armadyl ect. Most the godless aren't really godless because they want to see all gods gone they seem to have some outstanding grudge with an existing god or faction.
