I see that you've posted this to the subreddit. Great!
Are you sure about the shadow leviathan thing, though? It's just a giant wyrm, not XT. Unless you want to go with Zaros saying "leviathans" in plural, meaning there could be several powerful creatures in there. Who knows.

Well, I sort of addressed this on the subreddit. I'm not completely sold on the idea of Xau Tak being the shadow Leviathan either, but it is a theory I'm increasingly buying into I guess I'd say.
I know this is never a safe thing to do, but one thing I came across that I didn't already mention on the subreddit- we know a lot of this stuff, including the deity names concerning my post here, are taken from the Cthulu mythos, and to that end I submit this for consideration of skeptics, taken from wikipedia which I incidentally found after following the rs wiki reference links to how those names were inspired: "There are innumerable tales of multi-headed monsters, all springing from the actual entity of whose real existence a few have known through the ages. This creature did not originate on earth, but in the gulfs Outside. It was... a vampiric entity, living not on the blood of its victims but on their heads—their brains... Through the eons this being has ravened in the abyss beyond our dimension, sending out its call to claim victims where it could. For this entity, by absorbing the heads and brains of intelligent creatures both of this world and of other planets, emerges with its powers and vitality greatly augmented."
This to me is a near exact description of shadow leviathans aside from how they feed, and perhaps Xau Tak is the elder being above them in power which spawns them into existence. I at least believe they could have taken some inspiration from this. In any case, there is other mounting evidence that suggests he's related to the shadow realm so he doesn't necessarily have to be a shadow leviathan for it.
