Going all the way back to "The Bird and The Beast" battle. With Bandos now gone, will there be a new God of War? Or do we assume Armadyl has taken the mantle?

It's been a long time since that faithful day, when he was blasted, and went down a completely non-warrior's death. I guess I'm still sour from the loss, but I also just want closure. It feels empty now when other players are fighting for Saradomin, Zamorak, Zaros, and the others. But I can't say I'm fighting for Bandos since he's gone. I want to fight for Bandos, but instead I'm fighting for his ideals.

Will we ever get a new God of War?

More likely the Bandosians will receive a visit from the Queen of Ashes in the not too distant future.

As V put it, she'll waste no time in recruiting the downtrodden to her infernal cause.

In the mean time, feel free to help Graador and Zarador keep the name of Bandos alive; as Zaros so eloquently put it: " The god may die, but the philosophy is eternal. In time, another will grow to take his place, be they a god or not . "

The Mighty Fall divided Bandos' faction between Graardor and Zanik. Zanik is now stuck behind Nomad's Elegy, and that depends entirely on whether or not she came back. Zarador is more neutral, as he seems to act mostly as a keeper of knowledge, but not really advocating for what to do with that knowledge. He's more of a Bandos historian than a leader like Graardor or Zanik.

I agree that the Queen of Ashes could recruit the Bandosians. Mod Osborne did suggest that he would introduce the Queen in a Godless quest or a follow-up to The Mighty Fall. While those are separate ideas, I could actually see an overlap, since Fossil is a member of the Godless who dueled Bandos, and Zanik would certainly respect the Godless for wanting nothing to do with gods.

As for Armadyl, I could see some Bandosians joining with him, but he'd likely try to curtail their roles. Zanik wanted the Bandosian's to do something good with their strength, and Armadyl could encourage the same. He would absolutely reject the mantle of "Big High War God", especially since they dismiss him as a chicken.

I would love to see them do something with the Bandosian faction. I still think they made a big mistake by killing Bandos, as he made for a good villain. I don't think we necessarily need a new god of war, but I would like to see them show that the followers of Bandos still hold some power and influence in the world.

When I think of war, I think of Zamorakians. Bandosians always struck me as, cannon fodder and thugs rather than arch nemesis. There is only one person that enjoys smacking the whole faction about, but they don't take humans seriously. It would take a fairly big shift in their thinking to follow a human.

Some might have followed Fossil but frankly he failed his attempt to seizer the faction and that might forever stain him in the eyes of his fellow Bandosians. He now follows Kara and b hein. The only way she'd get in charge is a glamour and the Godsword.

What we lack is a suitable villain. Some might follow the Queen of Ashes but even she is not Bandosian. There is always the Slayer Masters...I wonder if there has ever been a Villain Slayer Master? They wage war against people all of the time, anyone and everyone is fair game to them :P

No, I think the Q.O.A should get her own original faction we've never seen. But I would be kind of curious to see a faction about mobilizing the downtrodden to overpower their oppressors. Maybe they could be an ally to Saradomin in a pact and they could work together to not only protect 'the weak', but empower them to fight for liberation across the multiverse.

You're so desperate to prostrate yourself to the Queen of Ashes because you honestly think she's some liberator of some none existent oppression. Fits you perfectly :L

How do you reckon Saradomin could ally with someone who calls themselves, as a god, A Queen on top of that?

It would never work out, very plain as day to see.

Probably not, but Armadyl causes more war than Bandos could ever dream of anyway, so we may as well just give him the title. Basically an entitled brat who runs around screaming "I'm a God!", "Justice!" and kills everyone who could even an insignificant threat to his goal. Sorta like Yagami or Zamasu. Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

Of universal/any forms of oppression actually in areas like Mazcab/Morytania or a war devastated place.

Saradomin and them both believe in 'protection of the weak', except the other tells the 'weak' to fight for what is right/liberation a bit more than waiting for an authority to do it.

The only difference is what she might advocate mass vigilantism or revolutionary war as a means of achieving justice. Would just be a bit more violent than the Saradominist/Armadylean means, that is focused a bit more on punishing/making wrongdoers suffer than 'justice'(Armadyl) or security(Saradomin) orientated.

Retribution,
Security(Order)
and
Justice
.

They share common values or beliefs, and if teaming up it would be a combination of both an authority doing it AND the downtrodden/'weak' fighting for their liberation while waiting for it.

As Mod Stu states Saradomin is more tolerant than you think, he only fights those he perceives to be a threat. I just think she could substitute Armadyl as the ally.
