Hello Forum,

Upon talking to Death about Moia, during the 'Til Death do us Part event, he mentions how the rift created by Xau-Tak feeds off of fear. In addition, he says "If we cannot stop the process in time... her greatest fear will be loosed upon Gielinor. I wonder what it could be?". Well, I think I have a fairly good idea of what that fear is. Her father, Lucien.

Moia, as the Fremennik Saga Nadir suggests, did not have a good relationship with her father, who viewed her as a 'failed experiment'. Although she hated him, is is most likely that she also feared him as well, even after his death.

The fact that, according to his wiki page, Lucien had concept art drawn up roughly around the same time as those used in Children of Mah. However, he himself was not. This would suggest that Jagex have plans to use Lucien in the near future... and I think this is where he comes back, as a shadow manifestation of Moia's greatest fear. As a side note, this could also lead to the return of Sliske in the future, assuming that he is canonically the World Guardian's greatest fear as well.

To sum this up, is there is a final (demi) boss to this year's Halloween event, I have a feeling it will be Lucien, returning as a servant to Xau-Tak.

Did you stop to consider that it might be her own mother.

We know nothing about her except she was human.

While Lucien would be an obvious fear, what if there had been something lurking in Moia's mind? Questions she had as a child?
Who was she?
Where was she when she suffered thru all this?
What would my mother think of me now?

Moia may have never given her much thought, and even considered such a thought as childish and so far in her past.
But the subconscious is a powerful thing.
And sometimes, our greatest fears are ones we never knew we had or thought we conquered, even though we never truly faced them.

Although I do like the idea of Moia’s Greatest fear being manifested as her father Lucien I doubt they would bring back such an iconic villain from the game in a holiday event.
The reason I believe Lucien had concept art done for Children of Mah was for the Kharshai section in Zaros’ throne room. As this took place in the past it makes perfect sense Lucien would be there.
I imagine Jagex planned to use him in this flashback section but changed their mind.

For another piece of evidence, let us take a look at the song from the event, Chasm Desecrated. I don't think the fact that both the name and tune are similar to Temple Desecrated (the song that plays when Lucien shows up in While Guthix Sleeps ) is a coincidence. Janos Morgan of Asgarnia

Some sleuths did some digging and found code for Lucien referenced in various places; I forgot where (I wanna say the Bestiary or somewhere like that..?) But anyway, your theory is correct: Lucien will return, his level is something insane like 50000, and he has millions of HP. Should make for a fun end to this otherwise subpar event :)

Ya colour me humble but after finally noticing that the music at the login screen is basically a remix of the music from Lucien’s quests I’m totally backing this theory.

He’s coming back

You're right, which is why we need to think outside of the box here.

Is "Til Death Do Us Part" a holiday event? Well yes - it's taking the monthly slot which would normally be given to such seasonal content, and the tone certainly fits Halloween.

But it's it more than that?

We've had major lore turning-points occur during temporary content before: the Battle of Lumbridge, the Bird & the Beast, Tuska Comes. Huge World Events which had consequences which are felt within new permanent content even today.

And then Jagex stopped doing World Events; meanwhile a good chunk of the players have wanted them to be brought back, and there was a lot of speculation that the Tainted Shard could point to a World Event 4.

What we have is a month-long event which changes on a weekly basis. There's a story being told over the weeks, and we're promised that there will be an unexpected twist and final battle right at the end. This is totally unlike regular seasonal events, because with regular seasonal events the content usually remains entirely unchanged through the entire four weeks, no story is told, and there's no unexpected final boss battle.

That tells me that we have a mini World Event on our hands, albeit one masquerading as a piece of traditional seasonal content. If this is the case, it's entirely possible *this* WE could end up with a previously dead foe returning to life, just as WE's saw the permanent deaths of Bandos and Tuska previously.

Other potential fears:
- Failing Zamorak or Bilrach. Both of them were her teachers for a period of time. Though I would think Zamorak would be a bigger role model to her.

- Succumbing to memories she picked up. You learn that she has the ability to extract memories from someone (which helped her in her infiltration missions). In her Frem Saga, there was some carry over from a few of the people she extracted the memories, if at least briefly.
We don't know how those memories may have shaped her over time. Or if perhaps she has touched on so many personalities and memories, what happens if they all bubbled up and she wasn't able to suppress them?

- she secretly bought outfits from Solomon's store or items from Yelps/Alice to gain a lot of XP?

- word getting out she sleeps with Zamorak's teddy bear?
