There is so little content lore wise as to where this druidic skill comes from.

I'd personally love some more quests involving herblore. Call it the Botanist series and tell me of the ancient ages where Guthix sowed seeds in the grounds of Gielinor to bring balance between the rivalry of Saradomin and Zamorak with some epic animations.

I mean come on.. they both have brews and Guthix idly sips tea (Rest)

Don't get me wrong I love herblore as a skill, just want a reason as to why Druids in taverly exist and why Chaos druids exist and what Guthix has to say about all of this.

The ancient herbs in Anachronia may have left us a clue. Herby Werby told us they worship the Ball of Light which the World Guardian quickly replied "The Sun".

We also see temple ruins all over Anachronia, indicating the ancient Dragonkin worshiped somebody. As well, we also see the pyramid shaped Dragonkin Hybernatorium next to Herby Werby. Coincidentally, The Cosmic Focus and Cosmic Pyramids are of course Pyramid shaped and related to the Dreamerkin.

Circumstantial evidence, at least, may relate Tumeken (or some Desert Sun People) to Ancient Herbs and Zygomite. Moreover, Herby Werby also show us the Cursed Herbs, signalling there is a Cursed opponent of the Sun.
