I wish no unnecessary god deaths. or just as insignificant gods as possible. And Hazeeling is now an official term?
It's basically been a term ever since RotM I think.
not used much that I know of until the lore forum existed

official, no... but everyone does know what it means. Even though Hazeel himself isn't atually hazeel'd anymore :P (which I am quite happy about)

I guess he is still partially hazeel'd... whether he's rejuvenated or not would make a pretty big difference, and I hope it has an effect on a later quest (like you get a choice whether to oppose him again, and he's stronger/weaker as a result of your first choice, but not outrageously so)

Zaros wasn't killed.
He was able to escape Zamorak's assault, at the cost of most of his energy and his physical form. Tho Jmods have said this is unique to Zaros.

We know Saradomin could project his form somewhere else, even while in the middle of battle with Zamorak.

We saw Bandos and Amascut create avatars to act in their stead. Bandos in Chosen Commander, but it cost him a lot of power when it was defeated. And Amascut in the 2015 H'ween event when she abused the soul power from the worlds brought by Tuska. So it's unlikely that it actually cost her anything.

So it is possible that a god could setup a scenario where they sacrifice some power to avoid getting killed (an avatar, a projection) and everybody notices it as the energy dissipates but doesn't leave behind a stone body, possibly leaving others fooled or simply giving the other party a chance to vent frustration in story without Jagex canonically killing off a character and the character saying they knew it really wasn't X but it still felt good to blast it.

Could Zaros escape again like he did last time? yes. But it took him thousands of years to rebuild his energy feeding off Mah and he needed help from the World Guardian to make a new body. With the Elders waking up soon, and Mah out wandering the universe, while he would survive, he wouldn't be in a position to try to prevent the next Great Revision.

"We're going to kill the most popular Faction's god. THAT should help keep people interested in the storyline!"

Said nobody at Jagex HQ. No, Zaros isn't going to die. If he does, we might as well close down the Lorums, because they'll be deader content than the Wilderness Revival bullshit Jagex put out last month.

Not really. Zaros just isn't interesting from a story telling perspective. Or maybe it's just how Zarosians present him...?
Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

In terms of emmisaries? Yes. But for the bigger picture, this means nothing because hardly anyone uses emissaries. For the playerbase at large, hardly anyone even has the stats to find out who Azzanadra is, let alone Zaros.

EDIT: ...And this is also irrelevant to the lore community.
