If Zaros and Seren are so powerful, why can't they create a mouth out of their plasma body?

Why does Zaros need a mouthpiece attached to his clothing when he can shapeshift?

Why does Seren wear a face bandana and communicate telepathically with us if she too can shapeshift a mouth?

If the elder gods are so powerful, why can't they shape their vocal cords on our mortal levels so they can talk to us without using tools like the Horn, Kras, or the jumping mouthpieces in SE ?

I smell a hoax.

Alright, you got 'em, you found 'em out. It is a hoax. A coverup. Here's the truth.

Both Zaros and Seren have "default" mouths that form whenever they try shapeshifting the things. They can actually form regular normal human being mouths, but it's not worth the risk of accidentally forming the "default" mouth in the process. Their mouths have power. They are dangerous.

Zaros's "default" mouth is impossible to describe in a way that fully captures its beauty. Two perfectly-formed lips, curved like a Seren Godbow and just as deadly. His lips are crystal, a vivid, alluring shade of violet that cannot help but draw the eye... and by that point, it is too late. Zaros has an aura of devotion, and Seren an aura of love, but these babies have an aura all of their own. No mortal being may look upon the smokin' hot Lips of Zaros without all their hopes and dreams, their goals and priorities, being wiped away in an instant and replaced with one overpowering aim: to obtain from those lips a divine Empty Smooch.

Azzanadra once saw Zaros's sweet, sweet lips. This explains a lot.

Seren, on the other hand? The mouth Seren now forms by default is also impossible to describe... for very different reasons. It is a horrifying circular maw, crystal teeth jutting inwards and outwards and sideways all around, surrounding a black hole leading into the Abyss. No mortal may gaze upon Seren's mouth without falling immediately into despair: a torment wracked upon their minds, filling them with sorrow and exhaustion beyond any imaginable, much like that of the players who've kept themselves awake all through DXP Weekend.

She wears that bandana because, if her mouth is uncovered for even a split second, she could unleash a force of terror with the power to grind Prifddinas to a halt. So yeah, the bandana isn't just preparation for her part in the heist the Wise Old Man has planned on the Grand Exchange. A blue partyhat would look very nice on her, wouldn't it...?

As for the Elder Gods, they actually communicate best through taste rather than sound. Jas's "voice" tastes like jasmine tea. Wen's tastes like Wensleydale cheese. Ful's tastes like flour, Mah's like marmite, and Bik's like a brick. It is theorised, by diligent scholars of ancient times whose work has barely survived to the present day, that the voice of the Sixth Elder God would taste like none other than an almighty cabbage.

These don't fit particularly well with their "infinitely powerful Elder God" image, though, which is why they'd rather use other things to communicate with mortals -- keeping a certain distance. Things like Jas'Kra, or Ful'Kra, or Enakhra, or Wen'Kra.

These posts are COMPLETELY SERIOUS and ENTIRELY CANON. They're also why I shouldn't browse the lore forums before 6 in the morning.
