Kinda disapointing that the WG is destined to fail and die.
Not necessarily failing.

We're humans, we have short lives.

Actually we can outlive a normal human age, this was stated by jagex during an old Q&A session, it is our injury that can kill us.

Fail as in? IF we appointed a new world guardian that then travels back in time freely, I doubt that's the case.

Actually we're THEIR successor...and we killed them.
Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

Yeah..... I know?

As in we didn't appoint them. They see us die, but are doomed to go back to the past and die themselves. So...yeah, all the WGs die and fail unfortunately.

If we are known as her successor, that means we have given them the power to be world guardian, as seen she has our power. Plus according to Guthix, she is to be returned to her original plane once the balance elemental is either defeated, or dismissed from duty by Guthix himself. Even the Balance elemental stats that once we defeated it.

So, Fail in what?

This makes absolutely no sense and I am dumbfounded as to how you reached this conclusion. If we gave her that power, we would be her predecessor, not successor.

As to where she got her WG powers.....Guthix probably.

You're right, my bad how I saw it, I should have explained it instead of thinking you knew. But doesn't answer my question on how we fail. In fact we don't really know if we succeeded any of our goal or not. Only that we died.

To me they are the same. The only way for the World Guardian to "succeed" is to watch over Gielinor forever. If the World Guardian dies, the world is unguarded, which means new Gods or old Gods can take over or kill everyone on the planet. Even if we could somehow magically create edicts (good luck without the SoJ) they would fall with our death, as did Guthix's. And unless someone discover's Guthix's "secret sauce", there won't be anymore WGs...and even if they did discover it, it might be impossible for a mortal to create a WG, and I doubt there would be another T2 God who's willing to make another WG.
