Even before the Sixth Age, we have had quite a few quests where we had to make certain choices that would affect the whole universe as well as Gielinor. For example, Hazeel Cult. Is Hazeel really such a terrible person as he is portrayed in that quest? Or are Zamorakians the true heroes of Gielinor, baptised by the fire of chaos and come to save the world from the tyranny of order and stagnation?

But anyway, there have since been a lot of quests where we had to make choices. Which quest was the hardest for you in terms of making that choice? Please bear in mind that I'm not talking about the official quest difficulty or the fighting. It's all about the choices.

For me, the hardest quest for choices was The Light Within. Should we put the Dark Lord back inside Seren and risk her going mad from the guilt? Will she be able to stop any darkness from the shard spreading out to the elves, preventing everyone from becoming the new Iorwerth? And what will happen to Tarddiad if you sacrifice or save Eluned? In the end, I kept both Haluned and Eluned out, but this was by far the hardest choice quest for me.

A close second was Nomad's Elegy. Should Harold or Icthlarin stop Gielinor, and how will it affect things later? And does Sliske get another deadly weapon in his undead arsenal depending on whether you spare or kill Nomad?

Please feel free to give us your hardest quest for choosing in general, or the hardest choice you had to make.

Probably Fate of the Gods since it seems Zaros will be the focal point of the Sixth Age. Sabotaging him could be very good or very bad depending on how things turn out.

Definetly Fate of the Gods. I had to log out and go for a walk for that one.

Another very difficult one was Birthright of the Dwarves, on wether to let Veldaban or the Consurtium rule the city.

While we're talking about it, The Mighty Fall on wether to kill Zanik or not was a no-brainer for me. Another easy one was wether to kill Nomad or not.

The easiest was probably The Mighty Fall on not killing Zanik . Though it might've been harder if I knew the later consequences ahead of time.

Hmm, Let Them Eat Pie was easy, yet I instantly regretted it. " I want to hear every detail " "BLUGUEGHEGHEGHGHGH" :@

Fate of the Gods was one I definitely debated with myself for a while, going through all the dialogue options. I tried to make a point with my decisions that we could save the world without relying on giving any one guy (especially one who deliberately withheld parts of his plans) ultimate power.

Build-a-Quest Workshop (I can't remember the real name), the quest where I desperately wanted more choice than I got. Why couldn't I make the goblin the damsel in distress? That would've been hilarious!
Headcanon Haven, where everything is made up and the points don't matter.

Korasi or Jessika. I spent so long, just trying to figure out some way to circumvent that decision. Because of that, my adventurer did not hesitate for a moment to send Grayzag to be tortured. I think it's still probably one of Rondstat's biggest regrets.

One of a Kind for me.
That choice at the end concering Hannibus.

I ended up sending him with Kerapac with even the smallest chance that he could help the Ilujanka.

I still think back wondering if I should have done that.

I can't remember what I did to Greyzag. Considering I told the truth to someone even though it scared the pants off of them and then killed doorkeeper then the pest in Quite Before the swarm, well it doesn't look so rosy for Greyzag. I certainly would have chopped him up in to fish bait. No regrets, better safe than sorry. And you can't protect yourself from something if all people tell you are comforting lies. I saved Korasi, a no brainer for me.

Like that guy who led the Mourners....come on, what did you expect, Flowers and a hug?

The hardest decision was if I should help Zaros or not...well I think he might give me a few seconds more time as an Elder chew toy if he is fully formed. Ruthless? Yes. I've seen his track record, and if he thinks I'll be any less than ruthless considering his wake of broken promises then he hasn't been paying attention. If he keeps his end of the bargain then all well and good, but I'll have one hand on my axe all the same. If he tries a double-cross, I won't throw him under the bus...I'll be driving it.

Within the light. I put Seren back together a completely as I could. My only regret is not knowing how all the out comes would effect that decision before taking a leap of faith.

BoD jail. I talked to one, not exactly nice people. Still I was a spy and saboteur and needed to act as evil as possible to pass muster. Just a pity I couldn't fit a cannon in to the jail. Jailers begged me to stop in the end. Job jobbed.

The Drunken Dwarf is King. Fun times. So you can imagine what happened to Mr chaos king. I let 2 supposed spies live and cheerfully butchered the others. Those 2 really had it coming, the 2 I let live were just thick as 2 short planks.

The hardest decision might have been to help or hinder certain parties during the world wakes. Though trying try to get a perfect score on Ahrims maze thing figured fairly high on agony. But by the end I just wanted to kill the morron. I just hope he improves with time!

I think those two are leading new lives on Jatizso if they're alive.

As for Grayzag, I just got him killed quickly. No mess, no fuss, just got rid of him nice and quick.

Veldaban I killed because he wanted to die, I saw the danger in having a chaos dwarf king, and I wanted to reunite him with his wife. No couple should be torn apart like that, especially to an experiment which Zamorak himself regretted. And besides, is the drunken dwarf really drunk or was that the illusion cast on him by the ogre, which would have dissipated after he was dealt with?

I can see why FOTG was a tricky one for non-Zarosians. He has a track record, can be brutal, and his plan for the Elders may seem a bit chicken headed. I'm not even sure that it is the only way to stop them. But I chose to be Zarosian because Azzanadra's really nice and Zaros doesn't seem the malicious type.

As for TWW, I would have liked to learn from Guthix even if I wasn't Zarosian. But I was never going to kill him.

DAT was an interesting one too. I wasn't going to help Sliske, and I was tempted to side with Zamorak just to say eff you to him. In the end, however, I chose to be neutral because I didn't really trust Zammy either, although I would rather help him than Sliske later. He did do good things like saving Moia, who had a terrible father I was glad to see dead.

Most of them were easy. Killing Zanik was the only sensible choice, regardless of your feelings, because she was doomed to die anyway and personally killing her spared her people. Guthix was an obstacle and needed to be dealt with. Zaros was being slippery and it made more sense to keep him on a short leash.

The only choice that (I recall) was difficult was BoTD...I killed Veldaban because he was a hypocritical usurper so I was left with a choice between a group of small evils (the consortium) or risk it all in an unknown king who would be benevolent or even more evil. I took the gamble. Ended up with King Drunken Dwarf III....no regrets.
Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.
