He is right, Guthix wanted to die, Jmods stated it in a Q&A. Guthix said he could have stopped it, because he knew of sliske plan, he has visions from time to time, but he even stated that he wanted to die, because he wanted to be with his family. Guthix was stated to be the strongest of the younger god, even zaros acknowledges his power and connection to Gielinor's anima. Guthix death is explained. Guthix stated he was struck by a god killing artifact. Which is an elder artifact, something stated that could kill a god. I don't see what there is not to understand. He died because he wanted to, he could have pulled a Zaros and escaped, or stopped it.

He died by an elder artifact, something that can kill a god. What he gave us is something that block some Godly magic, we can still be attacked, but be struck as if it was a normal spell, unless using an elder artifact, like Sliske pulled in
Kindered Spirit
So we immune to becoming a god and godly magic, but we are not immune to their attacks 100%/

So, we cannot become a god, because the stone of jas is not powered by Anima, it's powered by elder god magic.

Just going to chime in on the matter of Zaros. If you review Viggora's dialogue from ghostly robes, you'll find that despite players often saying this, he never says Zaros "tripped". Actually, from his description, it sounds like Zamorak managed to knock him over while Zaros had him by the throat.

yes, but the word 'berseker' used to always be 'beserker' before whoever's in charge wiped that from most of our minds
he definitely used to say tripped

Can confirm from an old RS video on YouTube it used to say that Zaros tripped.

Seems like two sides of an incorrect story: Zarosian would've thought it inconceivable for their god to die to a lowly Mahjarrat unless Zamorak got stupidly lucky, and then Zamorakians switch the story around to make it seem like Zamorak makes his own luck. In reality, everyone is wrong
and Lime always wins in the end! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA~!

Seems like you're grasping at a seemingly non-existent plothole.

As for Viggora's ghostly robe dialogue... Well, that miniquest is practically non-canon at this point. Zaros confirmed that nobody saw them fight, did he not?

Well all the events leading up to the confrontation are still canon. The only thing that ISN'T canon is anything said about Viggora witnessing Zamorak's victory firsthand.

There is one big hole in the entire :'Guthix made you unable to absorb the SoJ's power',

In Dishonor Among thieves Zamora states that he and sliske can 'leech' power from the SoJ and you can't since you are immune to divine energy, which guthix gave you during the world wakes.

Which would explain it, if you only ever used the SoJ after meeting Guthix, which you don't, you use it twice and yet don't gain anything permanently from it, while Zamorak climbed an entire god tier from just tapping the stone once,

so how does that work?

To me that suggests the immunity is inherent not given. When you look at Invention if Disaster it is plain to see that Guthix was both willing and able to get rid of the other gods. The only difference is that he met us.

One meeting with us in the past, an act which changes things to an extend not even a Tier 1 god achieved (Seren Failed) and he dumps his plan because we were a better option. While he may have tweaked us to be a GoG, something I still find laughable since there was no real change. It makes me wonder if he did anything at all...It could hav taken a lot to do anything at all... Or maybe he just wanted to see what kind of person we were...

Maybe he lied...

Maybe we were a Guardian all along.

P.S. Has anyone considered Seren failed to change time as a Guardian stopped her?

Get rid of the other gods? I thought the edicts barrier was still up in the other timeline? Where does it say that Guthix simply killed them all?
