Hmm...
Let's start brainstorming ideas :D
1. Black vs White Knights
2. Zamorak's Theory of Chaos
3. Mobilizing Armies Conspiracy
4. Zarosian Society
5. Bandos vs Armadyl - Future of Lore
6. Bilrach - General or lapdog?
7. Zaros - Fertile Dragon Riders?
8. Saradomin - Wand of Resurrection
9. Zamorak - Dwarves
10. Tuska - Innocent or guilty?
11. Tuska - Mindless or sentient?
12. Penguins - Threat or not?

hmm... wait- mobilizing armies conspiracy? I'm unfamiliar with that.

I'd say kick things off with some of the things that are most likely to be expanded upon soon, so as to have a debate before Jagex puts in content that would evaporate it. (Like implementing Tuska, and her final battle, before we get to a Tuska debate)

Right now, I'd focus on Bandos and Armadyl. First the pros and cons of Bandos, than Armadyl. Then a debate between the two.

If the debate format was done properly then I wouldn't mind judging.

I could do it for a topic that doesn't involve Saradomin if people are worried about bias (lol). But really, I'd like to keep debates fair so I'd be impartial with any topic.

Just an idea but my recommendation is to have a professional layout for it, for example timed rebuttals, and debate criteria for judges to decide who presented the most convincing and evidence based argument.

Criteria such as: Did Faction A adequately refute Faction B's arguments (Scale of 1-10 mark).

Did Faction A present relevant arguments for their cause (Scale of 1-10 mark).

Were Faction A's arguments convincing and did they support them with lore? (Scale of 1-10 mark).

etc

I believe judges must have an excellent reputation of being mature and knowledgeable about lore. They must be aware of the rules of rhetoric. Maybe not many meet those criteria...

Well, the idea would be to get people to represent both sides- side A being biased towards one side, and side B bias towards the other.

As per layout of this thread, I'd go with a post intro, a post for 'argument of the week' (or however long). A group of post to qoute the posts for the argument. A post for the judge's ruling, and a post showing the popular opinion.

For the arguments, I'd have the judge flip a coin, heads, side A choices who goes first, tails, Side B chooses who goes first.

Then the argument would proceed as follows-

A post from one side to open- (say side A)
A post from the other as a rebuttal-(B)
Another post from that last side to state their views-(B)
A Post from the side first shown for closing remarks-(A)

I think that deserves a separate thread. It would be quite off-topic...

Well this is my first time in these forums but I have had a question on my mind for a while that is puzzling me about the lore of runescape.

Alright, I am not completely updated with the current lore stuff but I have a question maybe someone could answer.

From doing intensive reading the question goes through my mind,

Here it is, So from what I remember from doing questions, in the lore Zamorak stabbed Zaros with the staff of Armadyl to ascend to god hood, but yet Zaros didn't die?
Also, Sliske in the last quest I have done(I read the ending I have not finished it) Sliske stabs Guthix with that staff and Guthix dies. My puzzling question is this, Is Guthix going to stay dead?
The question is puzzling me because both Guthix and Zaros were both gods that got stabbed by that staff but one is dead and the other is alive.

I might be wrong to think this or I might have missed something but I thought I should let my question out
and nothing was spoiled :P

The big difference is that Guthix wanted to die. Guthix and Zaros are both tier 2 gods, they have the ability to escape their body upon death. When escaping, their body disintegrate and they become incorporeal.

Zaros did that. When Zamorak "killed" him, he fled. He lost a lot of power but somehow due a mysterious energy source he recovered like he was before. He searches for a new body while residing on Freneskae. The next Zaros quest will be about his return.

Guthix on the other hand believed he disrupted balance. He wanted to leave Gielinor to mortals. That's why he let Sliske killing him, resulting in his permanent death and making him turn into stone. So you can be 100% sure, Guthix is erased from existence and won't come back in any form.

Or like Mod Raven states: "He's dead, very dead."

Well, with all the current destruction that has happened in runescape by the hands of the gods of runescape, I would figured something like bring back the dead or a dead god or rebirth of a god would happen.

Yes Guthix may have wanted die but he always wanted to keep the gods out of Gielinor in fear of what they would do to the land.

I honestly don't think Guthix completely dead or at least not 100% dead. Yes he was seen dead in the world wakes but it is hard to believe Guthix wouldn't have had a backup plan to deal with the other gods. He wanted to give the adventure(the people who have completed the world wakes) the ability to protect Gielinor.

That is just my thoughts, I might be biased towards Guthix since he was and still is my more favorite gods that was in Gielinor.

During Missing, Presumed Death, you get a Book of the Underworld. In there, Death states himself that gods lose their right for an afterlife. So if a god dies, his essence/sould gets obliterated and their body turned into stone. There is no way to revive a dead god.

I'm sorry to be the bad messenger, and I wished it was otherwise, but Guthix is permanently out of the picture. We, the World Guardians, are his last hope. So if you wish to honour Guthix and proceeding his legacy, chose the way of balance, be the World Guardian.

To do that I have to finish a many quests. It is wishful thinking, though
~

Also I forgot something! Isn't there going to be a Dragonkin attack sometime in the future? I mean after the Mahjarrat quest you get to see draynor about to be slaughtered by the dragonkin.

I haven't done many quests or any since Rs3 launched, I have been reading a lot though!
