Guthix wanted you to stand against the gods. But why should his wishes hold more weight than those of the other gods? Because he's "good" or because he's more powerful? You choose what path you follow. Guthix's words only matter if you actually believed in him. If I'm for example a Zamorakian why should I care that he placed this task on me? He's not my god.

Seems a bit hypocritical to claim the World Guardian shouldn't follow gods... because a particular god told you so.

I have noticed your kind does tend to blindly stumble forward towards danger simply because it exists. What is your word for that?
- We call it being a hero.

Who says the World Guardian is suppose to protect the world from gods? Guthix? lol. There is an option in TWW to tell him to piss off and declare your support for another god or become a god yourself for all it matters lol. The WG is just a title that somebody else gave you. That doesn't stop you in any way. I worship Mah, for she is mah homegirl! The correct adjective for Mah's followers are: Mahomies, Mah-homeboys, or Mah-homegirls.

So if you feel that Saradomin is the best thing for the world, then see it done.

Well, Teragard has become a great nation of killing eachother for leadership of the clans under Saradomin's wise guidance, so yeah... Better not. (Sorry, I really strongly dislike Saradomin.)

Killing each other for power is a thing of all humans not only Saradomin followers

The difference is, this world is under complete control of Saradomin. He could make it one of peace if he wanted to, but he doesn't really care about them. As long as they are worshipping. Other places humans live, they are usually in conflict with each other because gods put them up against each other. Humans were pretty peaceful back when the gods hadn't arrived yet and Guthix was asleep. (At least on Gielinor.)

Saradomin hasn't been on Teragard in centuries. It's under control of Magisters, who foster a warped image of him for their own needs. It's not that Saradomin doesn't care, it's that he doesn't know what it's become. From what we've heard he left content with the world, and is unaware of how corrupt it is now. There are many things to criticise about Saradomin (the ends don't always justify the means, and a theocracy?! Really?!), but you're kidding yourself if you think he doesn't want peace.

Saradomin gets so much shut. The reason I still like him is because he is that he really truly believes that he is good and when it comes down to it, he wants peace -albeit tainted by his own personal aspirations. He will even admit he regrets some od his mistakes -there is no such thing as a perfect leader -even Guthix made some mistakes. And if it weren't for thw other gods would he still have made the same distasteful decisiin

Who else could truly bring us peace?

Armadyl? He is too weak, too naive.
Seren? She isn't aggressive enough and cares little foe what's going on outside her bubble.
Zaros? Peace at the expense of freedom. Additionally, he has made so many empty promises and failed to prive his goodwill through action. He only cares about becoming an Elder God.
The godless? As already mentioned and even mirrored irl is that mankind tends to quarrel when left to thwr own devices.
Sliske, Zamorak. Name is were lefr out for obvious reasons.

He's not great but he is the best decision for Gielibor.

Our PC are allowed to follow a god, Guthix wanted us to protect the world from the gods, we still have the option to follow one. Like Zaros said, if you are Godless and he talks about Guthix "There are other ways to achieve that goal" The choice is yours. By canon, it is unknown, but since we help build up our character's story, it is up to you. If you see that Guthix has a point, Go for a Godless path. If you see tat Zaros should be an elder god and is good for Gielinor and further, go for it. If you see Bandos ideal as something to follow, go for it.

I choice Godless. Almost Zarosian until he sort of gave me a big N.O option. SO it is your choice. Like the Jmods said in a old Q&A, Guthix picked us not because he hoped we would go a Godless path, but because he knew we'd made a right choice when it comes to protecting Gielinor. And we sort of do.... at times.
