Every week we can have a different event that boosts drop rates or resources gained from a specific monster or activity. For example, this week wilderness monsters have a 10% rare drop rate. Next week we get 20% more logs from woodcutting. The following week we get extra marks of grace from agility.
The will make the game a more social experience and encourage people to explore areas of the game we they otherwise wouldn't.

Respectfully disagree as I'm not a huge fan of the RS3 double xp-esque increases however the mere notion of encouraging players to explore more of the game is one I'm quite passionate about.

If you think about it, the Slayer skill was partly designed to do exactly that and it still achieves this. I always felt artisan which is basically slayer for skilling would have been a fantastic addition to assist with this.

I like the communal aspect of this, but not the way you went about achieving it exactly. What about instead of increased xp, reward, etc.. it was a new, more engaging way of obtaining rewards through weekly or monthly distractions and diversions that resulted in a higher yield?

Preface: These events would happen on a specific rotating game event world as to not interfere with regular gameplay.

Example:

Week 1: Tempoross has some additional mechanics in effect that result in more fish
Week 2: Giants Foundry has new sword types that require extra steps and result in higher xp
Week 3: Wintertodt has some additional mechanics in effect that result in more loot from crates

etc..
