So, with the new skiller/pure high scores it seems like the age old question of negative exp lamps and resetting combat related levels has came up again. Not only that, it seems like this update has definitely sparked interest in other players to create these type of accounts. I know the last poll around the subject almost made it in the polls with 70% voting favor toward xp lamps.
However, this suggestion wouldn't be an XP lamp but rather an NPC similar to Nastroth of RS3. The idea is geared around veteran players & new players alike. It will also discourage players from quitting their time invested builds.
First, lets address some of the most common controversial points.
1. Hackers/Item manipulation/Duplication
- taking the item out of the equation eliminates foul play by creating the NPC interaction
2. Negatively Impacting the overall game
- there is no item in game at such a low lvl that I could find that can make any sort of impact on early lvls, gp or gameplay. (open to input)
- Think of it as a quality of life update to encourage these unique builds to continue their grind
3. Doesn't benefit the developers
- this would help by creating a potential money sink/rewarding veteran players.
The idea of the NPC - Mis'Hap is born. You can find her on tutorial island to help explain what a skiller/pure build is to new players & in Lumbridge courtyard.
A one time favor is granted for eligible accounts
For veterans -
Players with accounts 3 years + and 150m total experience would qualify for Mis'Hap to grant -250 xp in any combat related skill excluding prayer as long as that stat isn't level 4 or higher. (there are different tiers of items at lvl 5+ which could impact gameplay if reset)
or
New Accounts -
At the cost of 2m coins per experience up to 250 xp. max of 500m coins
Once, the favor is granted or players exceed the lvl 5 threshold. Mis'Hap no longer offers the chat option.
