I'd love some sort of review system or way to remove my permanent ironman status. I have put over 300 DAYS into my ironman and it is my only account on oldschool runescape. I got hacked and the hacker deleted my bank pin and dropped all my items. I have since made a Jagex account and (hopefully) secured my account.
Years ago when I was a little 1000 total level ironman I eagerly locked my ironman status thinking I would never get bored of the game mode and that locking my status would somehow help my accounts security. Since then I have gotten bored of the game at times, the thought of removing my ironman status crossed my mind a lot, since I do miss out on doing certain activities with friends, and there are certain bosses/content that I would rather buy the gear from than do myself.
Now after being hacked and losing my items I definitely do not want to carry on. What I thought would help secure my account is now biting me years later. I do not want to spend thousands of hours getting back the gear and items I had, nor do I want to make a new account either. I would like to SIMPLY remove my ironman status.
Jagex used to do this not too long ago, I do not understand the sudden refusal to help people now. Honestly if it were up to me "permanent" ironman status simply would not exist. If so many people are requesting to remove it after the fact it clearly was not a good idea. Not only that, but how does it even benefit the player to lock themselves? In my experience it clearly did not help me from losing all my items. Maybe it stopped my account from becoming some sort of bot, but in theory Jagex accounts will cover account security for us in the future.
Please please please Jagex, either start helping people who submit ironman status removal requests , or just straight up get rid of permanent status. Even if the solution is to make it take a month or even a year to remove the status.
