Right ... I have been thinking about the new skill lads, and I have had an idea.
Let me set the scene ... A MASSIVE and extremely powerful demon has spawned somewhere in Gielinor. Somebody messed with the Abyssal Sire's teleportation system and now Gielinor is threatened with extermination, unless some brave warriors can defeat this beast!
[The brave warriors use all of the recent gear creep to annihilate the demon with ease. Consider it dispatched.]
But hang on ... It has dropped something. It's hot, dead body is also giving off strange readings? Efforts are made to study these strange readings and a HUGE discovery is made! Beneath Gielinor, there is an entire underworld, never before explored (this can be as big as you want it to be). We also learn that this underworld has been known about for many millennia, but kept top secret by an existing powerful force (maybe the Gods of the God Wars Dungeon?). They first discovered this underworld and witnessed the terrors beneath. The Gods decided to create a pact and seal the World off using ancient magic rituals.
So, what does this mean for adventurers in Gielinor?
Across the entire map, there are secret hidden, magically sealed entrances, hidden behind hundreds, or possibly even thousands of different puzzles. Much like 'crack the clue', players are required to discover these doors and open them (possible money/item sink to open the doors). Once inside, players must use their diverse range of skills to traverse the new areas of the underworld they find. The underworld is home to many powerful beasts and bosses with unique drops and gear. The underworld also possesses many NPCs and maybe even it’s own currency. Though these NPCs are trapped souls. Players may also even find themselves in mini solo raids, where the stakes are high, but the rewards great – a true way of solo raiding, rather than current raids. Players who discover new areas of the underworld can invite their friends in with them … But for a price.
