The Muddy Key has been around since the very beginning of the game. It can only be obtained by a drop from either a chaos dwarf or the chaos archaeologist. I propose that its changed that any monster located in the lava maze has a chance of dropping a muddy key.

I have a suggestion for the Lava Maze also...

Make the inside of the gated area a multi combat area that has some sort of buff when more than a couple people are inside that area something happens. I don't know what but something. Maybe a chest that once people are inside a timer is started and then a message is broadcasted world wide that the timer has been started. The players would have to stay in that area or the timer would reset. It would of course have a cool down on that specific world and would not be able to be looted again for a period of time. I was kinda leading towards a clan area where the longer your clan holds that area you get something. It would make it so people would want to contest that area for themselves. could make it a hot spot in the wild.
