Dear Jagex,
I've been playing Runescape on and off since 2001. I was there when the party hats dropped, the Halloween masks, the Santa hats, the Easter Bunny ears. You name it, I was there. Now I'm a bit older but my love for the game hasn't declined. In fact, I probably love the game much more now after all the wonderful updates you lovely people at HQ are working hard everyday for. And you know what? I am not alone on this.
But the problem for us Asian players is that the lowest ping we have (still depends on ISP) is 200ms when we connect to Australian servers. This poses a problem now that we have content that heavily rely on precise click timing. My problem is: This game has been here for more than 20 years now and I'm sure that there are at least 2000 (enough to fill 1 server) Asians players who are living in South East Asia that have similar problems I have been facing for a very, very long time now. Why not create an Asian server? DOTA has a few. Valorant has a few. APEX has a few. I'm 10000% sure creating one (or hopefully multiple) Asian direct servers would substantially increase the player count of our beloved game as it could potentially entice old players such as my self to return to the game and also bag up new ones. This would be a win-win situation. Additionally, I get extremely jealous when I see streamers and YouTube content creators having sub-50ms pings. I've always wondered how that would feel and how having a lower ping could potentially improve my gaming experience.
I hope this message gets everyone well at the HQ. You guys have done an outstanding job over the years and I'm certain that you guys will strive more to release better, more fun, and more engaging content for everyone. Cheers! <3
