My proposition for a League

With no official date given on Leagues 4, I figured I'd submit a concept for a league I'd like to see!

For context, I missed Leagues 1 and 2, and despite absolutely loving Shattered Relics, there was a lot of negative feedback from the community. The two complaints I saw the most were "I spend more time navigating menus than I do playing", and "I spent more time grinding for a specific relic than I did having fun". Many players also cited the more powerful relics in Leagues 1 and 2, feeling like shattered relics was a step back.

So, I propose a middle ground in the Gilded League! Gold makes Gielinor go around, and this league would be focused on amassing and spending hoards of the stuff.

Similar to previous leagues, players would be given a list of tasks to accomplish with various restrictions, assisted by boosted exp rates and boons granted by relics, rising through several tiers of play. Each tier would allow players to pick from 2-4 relics for that specific tier.

These relics would be stronger than leagues 3, but on the whole weaker than leagues 1 and 2. Players would be able to change their relics in a specific tier at any bank by paying a GP fee, capping out at 1M at the highest tier.

Additionally, players can choose to Gild a specific relic for 10x the normal fee. Gilding a relic will increase it's power, bringing it in line with Leagues 2. Switching relics undoes the gilding, meaning players will have to pay the fee again in order to gain the increased benefits.

I think that these two factors in combination will greatly expand player freedoms compared to the rigid permanence of Leagues 1 and 2, while negating much of the frustration of menu navigation and RNG from Leagues 3, as players would grind for money to change and gild relics instead of grinding for a specific fragment drop.

Every league, however, must have it's own set of restrictions! Those will be detailed in my second post!

In line with the theming of the Gilded Leagues, these restrictions should also revolve around money. I have several ideas for possible restrictions, which I've ordered by my own personal preference.

1. A total EXP Cap, starting at 100k exp. Players will deposit money into the relic interface to increase their EXP cap at a rate of 5 exp per GP. This is easy to understand and hopefully simple to implement, while still being restrictive. To get 99 in each skill, players would have to pay at least 60 million GP.

2. Tolls to unlock skills, bosses, regions, etc. This is also simple to understand, and can be easily cloned from the Shattered Relics system. This is less restrictive than Shattered Relics however, as gold is easier to grind out than Renown. This may work in conjunction with a less strict exp cap from point 1.

3. A global coffer that drains based on the number of relics a player has active, capping out at around 150,000 GP per hour at the highest tier. When the coffer is empty, players would lose all of their relic benefits, including boosted exp rates. This would require the relic system to be robust enough to be toggleable at will, and is the restriction that I like the least.

While I like these conceptually, I do think they're not quite as restrictive as previous leagues, and I'd love to hear other ideas and feedback on improvements that can be made!
