Since the meme of sailing has unfortunitily passed the 70% treshhold, Jagex asked the more experianced player base to speak up.
Before we start, I must mention that especially this group had more "no" votes.
Secondly
Jagex lowered the required pass percentage to 70 from 75.
Reasoning for this was : " It means the development team have limited flexibility around the content they produce, niche communities often see their content fail,
and since fewer than 6% of active members actually vote in polls, the results don’t completely reflect the community’s real views.
Since the sailing poll had more than 3times the votes of the average poll, this reasoning is no longer valid and thus technically Sailing failed the 75% treshhold!
Should Jagex add a new skill to the game? this would be sailing
FYI I voted yes on almost everything but this question.
Why should you not :
- Devaluation of goods, ores, gems, food etc.
- Sailing is nothing more then :
1.Mining under water a.k.a. dredging.
2. fishing on a boat.
3. hunter under water.
4. Slayer on water.
5. constructing a boat with construction.
SAILING IS SKILLS THAT WE ALREADY HAVE BUT ON WATER
If Jagex wants to devalue all those skills and remove their content, sailing is the way to go.
- Sailing was essencialy a meme
- Sailing does not relate to anything useful or contributes to existing content!
example : mining + smithing for Melee
runecrafting imbue + ammunition for magic
crafting + woordcutting + fletching for Ranged
Herblore boosting potions for combat
Agility more run energy
cooking and fishing better food for survivability
and so on.
Imagine having a 80 sailing requirment for a quest forcing players to train a skill thats doesn't help them progress in combat.
All together : Should they bring sailing as extra content with respect to other skills ? YES
Should sailing be a skill ? BIG NO
