I feel like the flasks obtainable from the Tower Of Life could have improved usefulness to make them actually viable for all players to carry and use.
~ Flask drops (currently 1/10 for all) now have scaled rarity: Newtroost=1/30, Unicow=1/25, Spidine=1/20, Swordchick=1/15, Jubster=1/10, Frogeel=1/5. (Also,
please
make Swordchicks drop 2-4 Raw Swordfish instead of 10-40 Feathers.)
~ Empty flasks are now tradable (Members only; not sure about early GeneralStore or GE prices). Flasks with any contents remain untradable.
~ Instead of 5, flasks now hold up to 6 cups of Tea (
NOT
the Tea made in a POH) or Nettle Tea. Flasks can now also hold up to 6 doses of Guthix Rest.
~~Would be awesome if they could also hold the upcoming Forestry teas.
~ Flasks now behave like potions and will stack accordingly when stored in the bank following typical potion naming conventions (ie:
Flask of Nettle Tea (6)
).
~ Flasks can be
manually
decanted to merge cups/doses into other flasks, but
NOT
automatically by Bob Barter at the GE or any other decanter in the game. In addition, contents of flasks can no longer be decanted into empty cups.
~ At 77 Herblore, Guthix Rest becomes easier to make. By "using" a bowl of hot water on an empty flask with all necessary items in the inventory, a
Make X
interface will pop up. This also prevents Ruined Herb Tea--analogous to stop burning food beyond X Cooking. (Not directly flask-related, but still useful.)
~ At 60 Cooking, flasks can be used to make a new Bold Tea by combining 1 cup of Tea and 1 cup of Nettle Tea into a flask, creating 2 cups at a time (3 Tea and 3 Nettle Tea is required to make a full 6-cup flask). Bold Tea combines the effects of the teas used to make it (+2 Attack boost, +3 HP, and +5% run energy).
~ On death, flasks behave like potions/food and can be dropped as part of a resource pile and will retain their contents if any.

It's funny that you mention this idea as I was doing the creature creation part of the collection log a few weeks ago and was like wow, this tea flask and these satchels could be updated to be used in many unique ways, haha! But I like your proposed ideas, just needs good balancing so it's not overpowered.

I like everything except for making tea more rare.
I am not proposing any changes to any kind of tea whatsoever; my suggestion involves making the drop of empty flasks more rare, not tea.

~ Empty flasks dropped by monsters (currently 1/10 for all) are now much more rare: 1/200 from a Newtroost, 1/180 from a Unicow, 1/160 from a Spidine, 1/140 from a Swordchick, 1/120 from a Jubster, and 1/100 from a Frogeel.

I made a bunch of updates/changes to the initial idea.
The only
major
change was to make Flask rarity much more reasonable. After realising how ridiculously rare my previous droprates were, it became apparent that flasks should still have better usability than they do now, but not so much as to cause rapid GE inflation. Wouldn't want to see flasks reach the price of a decent weapon or piece of armor--it's still just a tea flask after all and
shouldn't
be
incredibly
difficult to obtain. So, here's the revised droprates:

except
Swordchicks ... not sure why that decision was made.
