As a long term player and a supporter of inclusivity, I feel I need express my concerns about a particular dialogue when speaking with the Abyssal Orphan pet, which I believe (and I'm sure many other ally's) comes across insensitive towards transgender parents.

When a player, who is female, claims “No, I am your father,” the Abyssal orphan responds with “Human biology may be unfamiliar to me, but nevertheless I doubt that very much.” This dialogue appears to dismiss the possibility of a female character being a father, which is quite offensive and hurtful to transgender parents who identify as fathers. You are also denying transgender women can't have children.

This dialogue reinforces negative stereotypes and can contribute to a toxic environment for players who belong to the transgender community, in which a majority of this player base are anti LGBTQIA+.

It is essential to remember that all individuals, regardless of gender identity, can be parents, and their chosen titles should be respected.

Please can this dialogue be looked into.

Thank you
Love is love 💙💜💛💚🖤🧡🤍🤎🩷

i would say its not making any claim, but it is saying it is unaware of how it works with the quote "Human biology may be unfamiliar to me"
its showing it needs more education to get better knowledge.

you also have to realise this is a made up place and is still a story, the story will have evil characters in it. and with that they will be well.... evil. doesnt mean the creator(s) of the world agree with what the evil character says, nor is it going to be portrayed as "right" view.

so yeah evil characters in a story are going to have evil dialogue.

however what is said i dont believe is that. i think its more showing it lacks understanding. and also just saying it doubts that they are the father which is true. no player is the father of the pet.

but it is good to bring this up, this is an old game. and in the time it was made to now, a lot of things have changed. there could be things missed that do need to be changed. good get a discussion going

Just as their are extremists lgbt+, there are extremist anti lbgt+. Neither are the majority of their respective groups. The majority of us just do not care what you do behind closed doors. Just because someone is not supportive of your lifestyle does not make them against your lifestyle. Just as in real life, the vast majority of players fall into this category. I have known a lot of lbgt+ and they could not care less if I am straight, and I can not care less what they choose to do in their own place. People are people and should be respected based on their character, not what they choose to do when they are with their loved ones.

As far as the father comment goes, being a sire means biology, being a father means love and acceptance. I am adapted and so my father is not related to me biologically, but that does not mean he is not my father. He was the one that taught me to fish, to stand up for myself and to care for others. He came to my football games and to track meets. He came to my band concerts, and more. He is my father despite the fact we do not have a dna connection. Can a female be a sire? No, she does not have the biological equipment. Can a female be a father? That depends on your emotions, not biology.

I agree with the comment that the npc making that comment needed education.
