I do wish coming into this grind I was somewhat aware of its atrocious drop rate because I would have kept an exact track of time spent, xp gained and pearls gained but to give you a sense of the time required to acquire 1k Molch Pearls;
I have been on the hunt for 3 weeks, approx 18/21 days I have played atleast 4 hours a day minimum and took only one break from molch pearl hunting to continue my 1k zilyana Kc without a hilt but thats another pain.
So atleast 4 hours a day for 18 days, up to about 10 hours on some of those days btw, I have gained 2 hunter levels 85-87 but gained only 348 pearls.
348 pearls in 3 weeks of 4-10 hours gameplay each day for atleast 18/21 days
That is only thanks to the fact I got some version of luck and had 2 Golden Tench but I have now not seen another for 3 days and for those 3 days I have gained approx 58 pearls.
In 3 Days, totalling 14 hours gameplay and only 58 Pearls
So we're talking approx 270 hours gameplay, straight, flat out, to get 1k pearls.
No wonder I have seen literally 1 person with the fish sack/barrel combination and 9/10 people its mentioned to react in disgust immediately.
The 3 people in the entirety of the RS population who have it should be refunded 500 pearls, make the fish sack 500 pearls to buy ( much more reasonable ) and maybe add a couple extra rewards so those 3 people can spend their refunded pearls on something worth that amount of hours.
Just an off suggesting, squid dyes for recolouring dragon weapons green/blue/black/white/lava? Just like the cormorant brings back the golden tench, it could bring back different colour squid at a less rare drop rate which when cut open with a knife reveal the ink sack, like egg sacks from sarach and dyes from Guardians of the Rift. ( less rare than GOTR please )
These can be sold for 25/50? Pearls to Alry the Angler or purchased from him for say 100 a pop like the rods?
Main point, 1k Pearls is over a month commitment, It's absurd
