Am i reading this right? There will be no new magic wep with DT 2 release, how am i supposed to buy a kodai wand if it never crashes. This some bull nonsense, i dont want a ring, why would i want to spend 10239120390391023 bil on a ring with +2 more attk bonus when i could get a staff.

The OSRS team has explained the reasoning behind their fear of vertical progression and hence their revised rewards of DT2 at the last month.

Horizontal progression without meaningful content designed for those rings and future similar content won't make them too appealing. Cookie cutter rings with tiny stat boosts to specific combat style aren't must-haves so I won't doubt they won't be 10239120390391023 bil each.

Theres also no new prayers right? Cause of power creep or w/e it honestly dosnt even seem worth it to do DT 2 at this point, the rewards look like shit. Ill still do it just for the challenge, too bad i wont get anything good for all the trouble.

If you go back and look at all those 6 months of non-stop hype of Runious Powers through livestreams, social media articles and developer blogs, you should know DT2 was supposed to be mostly, if not all, about Runions Powers originally. All the remaining rewards were meant to be just afterthoughts.

We should be glad we are still going to have a quest, one which will lead us to a ritual which those of us who are familiar with Ritual of the Mahjarrat should recognize. Stories are rewards too.

Good news for you, OP. I was right those cookie cutter rings won't worth 10239120390391023 bil each. They might have started out on 1 bil or 2 bil gp each street price, but when we buyers aren't obligated to pay that much for a unworthy +3 or +4 bonus style, they have to fall hard to earth.

Last I checked those rings are down in street price in the range of 100 mil each, and even lower for Magus Ring at 60 mil each. So no sweat! Just sit back and relax. If they drop to more reasonable prices, we can just buy them without grinding for months and begging for the pity of RNGesus. :)
