OSRS membership is part of my Premier Club membership. Although I play it much less, but it is still some benefit of what I "paid for" (with bonds). And yes, bond MTX in OSRS.. I can spend some OSRS gp to buy too for a couple of my alts.. well at least while OSRS bond price can be affordable again.

I stopped playing rs3 when they made it buyscape. There was a guy that started an account and only use sof for levels. By the time they banned him (about 9 months), he had multiple 99's. It was way faster to buy your levels than to actually play the game. When OSRS came out, I played it because it was simply fair to everyone. It did not matter how rich you were in real life.

Being able to get membership with in game gp is probably the only reason I still like an old game with antiquated gameplay, when there are so many new games and remastered existing ones with fresh content for the same, if not lower price.

Bond MTX is the worst form of pay to win mechanism, but I have to say it is the likes of those who buy 15 to 20 OSRS bonds for a mere 150-ish dollars (and get 100-150 mil OSRS gp instantly with them) and max herblores from level 1 in a matter of hours that allow me to still "like" OSRS.

"Worse form"? Seriously, you do not think that buying spins and getting tons of exps is not worse? Selling the bonds does not mean you do not have to do the skill. You still have to mix the pots and add the secondaries. With spin, you do not even have to enter the game, since you can do it from the pre log in area.

For me it's almost completely about nostalgia. And the nostalgia makes me partial to giving grace and learning any new content the OSRS team adds as opposed to RS3 which I don't recognize and have as much of a connection to. Find me at The Nasty Ranch

You get xp faster but you don't win anything. Getting xp doesn't let you win any DMM, Leagues, Boss Bash Raffle prizes etc. Getting a tbow or other endgame content will be considered pay to win rather.

How is buying spin a lot worse when there is a limit of keys we can buy and use per day. AFAIK nobody can max herblore in a few hours buying spins in hours and that will cost them far more than $100-150 real money, but they can do that with less than 20 OSRS bonds worth about only $150 if not less.

What is it about OSRS that makes it more preferable to normal RS? To me, it has a unique charm to it, it doesn't come off as super serious, and it has an almost calming nature to it.

Not preferable, but I like dropping by every now and then and afking sand crabs
