Hello. A few months ago a friend of mine scammed me for a bunch of my gear I lent him.. He ended up DMing it without telling me and lost.. A month later when i asked for the gear back for a clan bingo is when he came clean.

I have screenshots of discord and facebook discussions with the user from when it happened all the way up to when he paid me back with interest..

I don't RWT and take great pride in working on my own account and would never risk it over some gp. I don't know who to contact or where to post.. If someone could point me in the right direction or if a mod could get a hold of me that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello.

Not a thing you can do. No one we can guide you too.

You lent the items out in good faith and your " Friend " lost them. Sadly thats it. The items are lost. Jagex don't replace lost or stolen items.

As for your proof that can be photoshoped in a few mins. Not saying you have done that but it does happen. Jagex only accept in game reports done within 60 seconds of the trade etc.

Now reading the rest of your post it seems by the looks of it you got a warning for RWT or have I read it wrong.

Again nothing can be done as it's a Warning only. Jagex must have seen something to make them check out your account and who you traded with for a warning to be issued.

Anything futher we can help with just ask.

I mean.. I'd willingly livestream me logging into facebook and showing the messages as well as scroll through to stuff on discord showing the dates of the conversations.. Maybe he was involved in something with rwt... I just don't like seeing a message like that when not only was I scammed, but then penalized for accepting getting paid back /:

It was just a warning but I feel it is a tarnish on my account that is otherwise essentially squeaky clean.

I lost my items, and the RWT wasn't for me handing out items. It was for me finally getting paid back after months of waiting on him..

Essentially got the message because he paid me back.

Got you now.

By the sounds of it your " Friend " may have traded with a RWT or been RWTing himself and been on the Jagex watch list. That means anyone trading Him will also be on that watch list.

I know it's a bitter pill to take and I do understand. Thats just how RWT works.

Still nothing can be done and still can't guide you to anywhere or anyone to get help about it.

I do wish you the best of luck though.

So does this mean I basically shouldn't lend or be lent any gear in the future as I'm now on the watch list? If I have an abyssal demon task and want to borrow a kodai to barrage them am I going to be hit for rwt now? Should I not do a hide and seek clan event where the winner gets a bond now? Etc

I have no idea how it all works. I often lend out items to close friends. None of us have had any issues.

Before Jagex sent the warning from what I've seen over the years within the forums is they have enough evidence that some sort of RWT took part hence the warning first.

Not trying to scare you or put you off. It all depends who you trade with and if they are on the watch list etc

As for Hide and Seek I've done that with My Clan and had a lot of fun.

Right but what I'm saying is... I'm now on the watch list yeah? So loaning or receiving items from buddies would inherently put them on the watch this also? I just want to contact someone somehow to show proof. You can't really edit dates of a livestream of scrolling thru messages and whatnot so...

I guess my main problems are
1) Being on a list I had no business being on
2) Potentially getting other innocent people put on the list by trading gear with them.
3) Not being able to even actually plead my case anywhere effectively.

I can't say for sure if you are or are not on some sort of list. Something triggered it though as Jagex sent you the warning message.

I've seen others get the same message and carried on playing for years with out any further issues.

As for pleading your case with anything related to RWT has never been a thing hence why it can't be appealed. Jagex did their checks first and won't say what checks etc. Thats so anyone who does RWT as a business can't get around it.

Hey, Sixty Neiner.

When it comes to RWT concerns, I like to quote Malua's responses:
Malua said :
A RWT warning message occurs after the account has received the benefit of a RWT. It usually means the account owner has unwittingly accepted RWT money from another player.[...]
[...]If Jagex believed you bought the gp, they would have banned your account, not warned it. They can see the movement of the gp from RWTs. It's fairly easy for them to track.
Original message details are unavailable.
An account that receives RWT'ed gp is strongly at risk of being warned or banned for Real World Trading.

Real World Trading activity is thoroughly investigated before any punishment is applied.
The banned host will have been confirmed as real world trading despite their denial.

The way Jagex handles RWT offences has changed recently.
Previously any account that received the benefit of a RWT would have been banned without any chance of appeal.

Accepting gifts or giveaways of gp is very risky .
