OSRS is working on a RS3 style Completionist Cape. It will even look like the RS3 Comp Cape too:

What do you OSRS Max Cape holders think? When OSRS Comp Cape comes, do you think the Max Cape you have grinded a decade for will become worthless? Do you want to grind another decade for a Comp Cape, which may eventually be superseded by Trimmed Comp?

What are you talking about, "worthless"? Max cape doesn't have any stats that existing capes don't already have. It's basically a cosmetic version of completionist capes, or inferno capes, etc. Completionist cape would be the same.

Also it's been polled before and failed. It'll definitely fail if it offers any advantage over existing capes.

That's not even remotely the same argument. The potential existence of a comp cape does not make the max cape less valuable. Being unable to wear a max cape if a new skill is introduced has nothing to do with any potential new capes being introduced.

Comp cape obviously makes Max Cape less prestigious. Even Mod Jack admitted being Maxedis no longer considered endgame content from their prospective. It should be even more so in OSRS, especially when Comp Cape inherits all perks from non-skill capes.

Yes. The most powerful cape in the game will now be useless because of a recreantly announced upgraded version of it that has yet to be announced stats/effects. If they do anything like RS3 did, the Comp Cape will literally have the same exact stats as the Max Cape with just a few minor QOL effects. Crazy how the Comp Cape exists in RS3 already and I hear no one claim the Max Cape is useless/worthless in that game, despite the fact that the Max Cape is arguably stronger in OSRS than on RS3. Yeah just adding QOL effects is probably the way to go anyway otherwise it'd be inherently unbalanced as many have suggested.

What's the reason it failed a poll in the past? Was there an attempt to make it too OP?
