Was the fang nerfed again?

It seems like the fang has been underperforming as of lately for me. I don't know what it is but comparing kills while doing slayer between the fang and rapier, it seems like the rapier outperforms the fang 9 time out of 10. Same gear, same pots. The only thing that changes is the weapon. I used to hit pretty decently with the fang( back in April before I took a break from OSRS), now upon my return to the game it feels like I'm doing less damage than a whip and hitting multiple zeros.
