Hi, I'm a returning player of Runescape, i created my account before the EOC. I know that since the EOC in 2012, all accounts were updated to the new game model, and then OSRS was created afterward, and that RS3 is actually the original game. Is there any way of making a service for those who made accounts pre EOC to be able to access OSRS at the levels they were at before the update? Maybe with 0 inventory and GP so that theres no way to transfer XP or gold from one platform to another?
Like maybe keep game items from RS3 exclusive and saved in a bank so that when your character switches to OSRS they don't follow? And if it would be too hard to map the data of each account to see where they were at pre EOC maybe you could just nerf each skill down to a certain percentage? Being able to map each account pre EOC and having the ability to play OSRS at the same level you left off would be ideal. It would piss a lot of people off who had to had to start from lvl 3 again but why not? Charge a $50 fee or so for everyone who played before 2012 who wants to hop back on their old account. I personally would love to play OSRS after coming back and trying RS3.
But to start from scratch at lvl 3 in OSR just makes me want to not play at all. No way do i have time to get 1451 skill points and 171 QP over again. and thats not even a lot.
Im probably out of my depth and i'm really just spitballing here, i don't know how feasible something like that is logistically but i would love to see an option available.
Some sort of cross platform so at least you don't have to grind and grind to get to a basic proficient level in OSRS. There would be money to be made in an idea like this, is this even something that would be entertained? I've been away awhile and i'm sure its not the first time its been brought up but i am wondering if there is any hopes for something like this. I don't have time to grind OSR and RS3 is very complicated comparatively. Thanks, appreciate any feedback.
