I'd have to agree with Dilbert2001. Tremendous explanation.
It's more of having additional options to train the skill. Especially in a way that is community/socially focused. Most of the resource based skill training methods tend to benefit players for being alone instead of sharing resources (e.g not cutting the same tree as someone). This gives everyone the opportunity to participate as a group instead of standing at a lonesome tree by themselves somewhere if they should chose to do so.

Being able to chill and skill with the community without running around to bank much like is definitely a good reward to me. The idea is very good, but perhaps the buggy OSRS game doesn't give some players the positive feeling it should give.
genuinely have the same question, I did forestry for all of an hour before it felt like a waste of time, the random events are trash, the mulch event ends by the time I figure out what combo to use, no one talks about anything useful and I get more out of solo chopping mahogany on fossil island than I do yews at seers. seems like another piss poorly planned update just for ironmen and "influencers" to do events with sheep with the added stench of nurfed xp rates for an outfit you can get faster from a non related activity
I just read Pt2 Axe overview and I like the new 2H Axe option, but doubt I'd use them. I want all the logs I can possibly get, or else why else am I woodcutting? Fletching and Firemaking use em. Ironman btw
