its talked a lot in game. its definitely not gone away from the community.
and just because jagex havent talked about it doesnt mean nothing is being done on jagex side.
it was polled and it did go through as a pass in that poll so it will happen.

I don't think they are cancelling Sailing, but it is certainly not a headliner project now. When the developers don't even have anything to show us this year other than the ship movement mechanics beta, I don't think they will have anything to poll, let alone something as tiny as an icon.
