No, its true. In rs2 they could do roll backs AFTER a major engine upgrade. Our engine is the older one, meaning they can not do roll backs and have stated so many times.

Yes, they can and they have.
In rs2 and now rs3, they have and can, but this is not rs2 or 3.

Unfortunately, this is a common counterpoint- it boils down to the fear of the feature being 'abusable' but there are many others who vote no with zero rationality.
When you take into account that they want roll backs of THOUSANDS of exp, no, it isnt either "zero rationality" or fear. Very few cases involve an accidental increase involve more than 100 exps, but they do not want that. They DEMAND multiple (often unlimited) lamps and such that can each remove 10k or more exps. They want to move multiple levels of exps. THAT is abuse.

That was a rare situation where they had to do a major patch to remove bug caused people to gain exps. So they did it in a mass change. Individual roll backs would require a vote approved by 75% and that has not happened. They do not poll bug fixes.

I do see where you're coming from MasterCast8r, it would likely be an unfortunate side effect to see restricted builds access previously locked content by rolling back defense after a quest or w/e the scenario is. Perhaps there could be a creative fix to this? Something along the lines of gained quest xp becomes the floor for your xp/level and only gained xp through combat or skilling could be negated?

I have no intention of using negative xp to my advantage other than going down one combat level. I understand this wouldn't be true for the rest of the community.

Thank you all for your responses. I appreciate the information and opinions being shared.
