Problem with you ambition: They swore to not put in gender exclusive in anymore with RS2. If they put a female outfit in, they have to put in a male equivalent.
Example:
Academy Blazer/Blouse Uniform would have to be released with a Blazer/Slacks Uniform for the guys.
There is no spontaneous exclusion. We as a society make the exclusion. For instance, there's nothing physically stopping a male from wearing, let's say, pink glasses but rather they choose not to because society has deemed it 'wrong' & 'inappropriate' for men to do so.
My point being, there are no exclusions. There barriers we make up for ourselves & like we built them, we can tear them down.
Full support btw.
What I pretty much meant was that they can't give anything without making an equivalent. Course I'm being ignored almost every time I say something except to be yelled at so I'm sure this too was also ignored. If its a themed thing like the example I gave or the theatrical set which is already ingame or the servants' attire, also ingame, they can't make it exclusive.
Example: Heads up every body! First gender exclusive thing on the store! If you are not of said gender, you may want to visit the Makeover Mage to wear this fantastic article!
PS: Hairstyles I can understand but not when it comes to clothes and accessories.
It's also way easier to make all the hair fit on both character model heads...
OP brought the hairstyle part up and I gave my two cents but I agree with you there. Besides, we've seen plenty of guys in fiction from both genders with similar hairstyle on both genders (Internet Rule 63 in some cases) and the characters still pull it off rather well.
Totally support you.
Jagex does well with armor design for the most part, but their clothing fashions need some fresh eyes on it. Even the contests they have held for designs have resulted in some really nice outfits yet they have not implemented anything worthwhile.
All they even have to do is look at their competition for ideas if they can't come up with anything themselves. I know they have women on staff, but I guess none of them work on something like this.
It's a shame, really. They are always looking for new micropayments and this would be perfect - it doesn't interfere with the game itself, just enhances play. Some of the outfits they could so easily implement exist in game on npc* (example, there is a trader on the docks at I think Port Phas, kind of a burgundy color dress with white, very pretty, but is not available to us players- how easy would it be to allow that one in game?
I think there are many, many players who would purchase items worth paying for but do not because of the choices we are given.
At my funeral will be a piñata so ppl can be happy, but full of bees so they're not too happy.
Support, but only if available to both genders. I hate how some outfits look good on one gender but hideous on the other.
Although, usually the female outfits are uglier.

i'd hope that the male/female clothes exclusives on runescape is a technical rather than an idealogical issue - the male and female character models are sufficiently different that wearing the 'wrong' clothes would look very buggy
