For those who may have missed it, The Risen is a fallen warrior mage that met its gruesome end in the swamps of Mort Myre, and has returned to claim its kingdom once again.

...and instead of tying the outfit as a reward to actual gameplay, it's just another MTX purchase.

It's obtainable by playing the game and making money, then using that money to buy bonds. It's no different than buying an outfit chest from AOD, except this one is cheaper (about 60m worth of bonds).
Just because I have it, it doesn't mean it's true. -

Except that:

1. With AOD chests, a player is genuinely earning their gp when they sell their chest drop, whilst a player buying bonds with real money and selling them for gp isn't actually playing the game for that gp, but rather is using their real-life wallet. AOD chests encourage actual gameplay, while MTX discourage it.

2. Even if you buy bonds with gp and use them to buy the Risen pack, you're still making a MTX purchase, and the source of it has nothing to do with the actual gameplay, because the outfit just appears out of nowhere, regardless of where/when/etc you make the purchase. It's similar to if you could use the developer commands with the console to spawn any item you wished during regular gameplay: it breaks the immersion.

So no, just because there's a way to obtain the MTX stuff without paying real money yourself, doesn't automatically mean everything's fine. Understand that when MTX is involved in a game, it negatively impacts the game design process.

I don't care for the outfit itself.

The walk animation is nice. I don't really like the transition from standing to walking/running, though, and it happens a lot. Quite a stutter. Though that tends to happen with any non-standard walk animation, unfortunately.

One other thing, I like that the left and right hands are holding the gear differently, so that archers get a completely different look out of the outfit, but it would be nice if 2h and 1h was also a different animation. To my knowledge, the only walk animations to do this have been Assassin and Barbarian? Anyway, it's a nice feature and wish it happened more often.

Except it doesn't as what is/isn't "negative" to the health of the game is somewhat subjective.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but this 2h sword looks too small. Is it too much to ask for a reasonable sized 2h sword with enough handle length to accommodate both hands during animations?

Good. Never let anyone think differently
