To be honest, I don't mind SGS. It's not a bad way of implementing some cool items into the game, and most of the stuff in the store is relatively cheap. Could they implement this into the loyalty store? Yes. Would that be a better notion? Of course. But if they don't, it's not the be all to end all. It's not ruining the game, per se.
As for the SOF, I don't mind it in the fact that it gives me free exp, gold, items, etc. I WILL admit that it does ruin the game somewhat, as it's giving players unfair advantages, as much based on wealth of the player in RL and also the luck of the spins.
I'm sure that people wouldn't mind SOF as much if the updates came maybe once a week. I think four times in a month is a fine number. And if that limit cannot be met, then at least give us an in-game update to match EVERY SOF update.
I think what really gets under the skin of the players, myself included, is that there's so much hype about the SOF, which isn't at all interesting, innovative, new, or helpful in terms of content. Earlier on in the year, you guys changed the price of membership. And for what exactly? To give us a bunch of SOF updates? All that the players are asking for is the "bang for their buck". We just want regular content updates, innovative quests, intriguing plot lines, interesting characters, etc.
To put aside SOF - to keep and maintain the happiness of a mostly loyal fanbase - seems to be the more prudent decision in the whole SOF vs. In-game Content war.
