Does anyone remember, years ago, when Jagex floated the idea of selling a USB dongle as a hardware safeguard against account theft? It was sort of like one of these new-fangled USB ******** managers. In order to get people on board, there was talk of including extra bank space with the purchase of said dongle. I believe the idea was eventually scrapped, but I don't see this as too much of a stretch. People were willing to buy it back then to support Jagex, before the infusion of "big money" from IVP et al. The only difference now is how far down the slippery slope of "content monetization" Jagex has ventured. It's disappointing that the Loyalty Shop version was not released alongside the GS version, but the fact that they "plan" to release a Loyalty Shop version is a small saving grace (and indicative that they haven't abandoned it completely yet). In that same vein, however, I think that everything released via the GS should also be available in the Loyalty Shop. That is wishful thinking on my part though.
