Great update! Bank space will have no advantage's in the game compared to players that dont get the bank space. I don't know what's going through some of these players mind's about selling Rs gold. That will NEVER happen so why are you saying it. A lot of negative nancy's in the community now, it's getting ridiculous! It's okay the true Rs Veterans/players will be here through thick and thin!

Im a vet and this is all crap. Why the hell do yall not understand that everyone hates you selling us stuff. If this keeps up i hope that jagex just runs this game into the ground. Then i can laugh at how stupid this company is for ignoring everyones negative feedback on there rediculous updates (not all of them..). The community clearly has no say in what goes on in this game anymore.

"Guys please remember" lol..
We have more items than we know what to do with. Members actually Need more bank space for all of the seeds, potions, ammo, pouches and other skilling-materials we have to store,(bank space isn't a convenience it's a necessity)... It isn't just unjustifiable Jagex is making important updates like this buyable, it's another slap in the faces of long-term players. Throwing in the optionality to buy bank space with Loyalty Points as a fallback.. Sure is a fool-proof plan to avoid hate lol.
Maybe if we could see some finances, if we could see where all this extra money is going you guys wouldn't look like such money-hungry douchebags. You could justify things without saying "Well we're doing nothing wrong, we're not breaking ALL of our own rules..", it looks fishy because it is. I'd be more than happy to pay a little extra to deserving game-makers that actually listen to consumer-feedback.
To all the brown-nosers supporting these types of buyable updates, playing dress-up with your assassin cat outfits and other bought cosmetics... You'd buy the spit from a mod's mouth if it made your face look better in-game. All you self-centered 1%'rs do is keep buying spins and cosmetics, you don't value your money like we do so you'll grab the bank slots to brag about it. You'll buy the next best thing in Solomon's MapleStory Shop in the next update as well, funding every greedy idea until there's nobody left to give you attention for the money-suit you bought. You don't care about supporting Jagex, you just want to look special; your comments mean nothing here, as you don't intend to make anyone but yourselves look better.
They have more money coming in than you guys realize, with all the bots paying the newest membership fee. I'm not sure why they need so much more, this game isn't exactly World of Warcraft-quality.

I officially quit because of this.
You have stolen 6 years of my life Jagex.
Now you have guaranteed that I will never fully achieve anything within this game.
Thanks for ruining every last scrap of sense of achievement I had left, the ONLY THING THIS GAME WAS ACTUALLY GOOD FOR.

"Guys, remember that Bank space is not an in game advantage. Members already have a massive amount of bank space and could easily get the same amount of XP per hour as someone with more bank space. This is more of a convenience item."
~~ Mod Zach, page 2
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alright, if you really want to play that "is more of a convenience item" game, you can make anything in Runescape sound like a convenience item, since the game has no true end purpose and no one is actually competing with anyone else. The only true purpose for playing the game is to enjoy it. Because of this, an argument can be made for experience being a convenience item:

Guys, remember that experience points are not in game advantages. Members already have a massive amount of possible training opportunities and could easily get as much enjoyment out of the game as someone with more experience lamps and pendants. Experience simply allows someone to access more areas; this is more of a convenience item, since the game can be enjoyed without access to those areas.

Another argument can be made for Gold Pieces being a convenience item:

Guys, remember that Gold Pieces are not in game advantages. Members already have a massive amount of possible money making methods open to them and could easily get as much enjoyment out of the game as someone with more gold. Gold simply allows someone to buy better equipment; this is more of a convenience item, since nobody actually needs better equipment to succeed.

The fact that Jagex is overlooking is that even though, technically, the game's only true purpose is to be enjoyable, the players have chosen values such as experience points, wealth, and (with the addition of SGS) cosmetic items owned as a way of ranking themselves against other players.
Bank space allows players to own more items, cosmetic or not, and so is an in-game advantage (ever heard the phrase "what's your bank worth?" ).

Just another way to use real life money to recieve in-game advantages...
*Sigh*
"We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. We feel your status in real-life shouldn't affect your ability to be successful in RuneScape." - Andrew Gower

Another argument for why bank space is an in-game advantage goes as follows, and was actually mentioned at least once before by Sir Dudeman:
Bank space is as much a valued commodity as RS GP is; it is in extremely high demand and in considerably low supply. I can not count the number of times I have been forced to note and drop/sell dozens of items in my bank at a time just to open more room in my bank up, and I consider my bank to be fairly neat and organized.
I would consider the importance of bank space equivalent to the importance of having money, to the point that I would grind, in the same fashion as I do for money, for bank space.

Yet another argument against selling bank space is simply the morality/trend argument, which goes as follows:
Although there were plenty of controversial updates before it, the Squeal of Fortune was when Jagex rewrote their RWT Rules and really betrayed the players' trust and loyalty. This was tolerable at first, albeit very annoying.
They proceeding to make spins tradeable, which effectively made experience points buyable. This was the point many members decided enough was enough and quit Runescape. The rest of us persevered.
Why did we persevere? Because we knew, in the end, everything on the Squeal of Fortune was obtainable through valid, in-game methods and in order to really receive a benefit through the SoF you needed to spend a ton of money, making the amount of players likely to actually buy their way to 99 very small.
Then, they added Soloman's General Store, which brought items into the game which were NOT obtainable through valid, in-game methods. To this store they now bring extra bank space. The point of this argument is that adding extra bank space reflects poorly on your moral character as a company, since you once again have ignored the obvious concerns players have that you're headed in the wrong direction. This action also raises the obvious question about your recent trend:
What's next?
