Well, f2p still cannot post for. Or at least anywhere but in these forums or this thread.

So far, there has only been a fmod in the forums who said, this was because of a spam issue.

The many communties that were mostly f2p are dying or are dead right now. The creative groups, the story forums, the forum roleplay forums, I want to say in game forums but I don't go in those forums. But these forums are dying right now with the lack of f2p.

I read the homepage of runescape saying Jagex has some of the largest online communities, how large can it be with the most creative sides of the forums are being killed off because f2p cannot post?

If this problem is not fixed soon it all the forums will be dead, right now there is less than 200 active users in the forums. Jagex if you want an example what the forums will look like or how dead it will be, just look at your funorb forums and look at that activeness...

They could at least tell us what sort of technical issues they are facing, instead of just two lines basically just saying "Problem with forums. F2p can't post."

This font update, maintenance update, or whatever it was... if it has caused this much damage that it has taken them this long, wouldn't it make more sense to just scrap the update instead of completely isolating the f2p from the community? The forums were the only thing we had left. Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.

Thats 1 and a few other sources I currently cannot pull up since I got them from a few people in game.

I could be wrong, most likely am wrong. I just hope they allow all the f2p back into the forums soon.

Guthix, that is just ridiculous. Fmods and players are not a valid source, and neither are players. Do you honestly believe that Forum moderators have any more knowledge of what goes on at Jagex than what they tell everyone else? They know just as much as we do. If someone told you: ''This guy told me that this girl told him that the city is about to be attacked by terrorists'' would you believe them?

Also, why would they lock down the forums over a spam attack? People spam all the time, their threads get locked and their posts just get hidden. Even if a large enough group DID get together and tried something like that (which is EXTREMELY unlikely) it is no reason to throw the F2P out. Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.

Most Fmods, have some idea what is going on in the forums then most normal players. Yes they might not know what is going on, but it is better then nothing. When several people say the same thing it his hard not to believe something.

I did my in game search and several other players have said the same reason.

Anyway I am not going to argue seeing how I am not sure if I am right or wrong, all I know if f2p cannot post and Jagex seems not to be giving people answers other than it is out of there control.

I was searching pages 48 to 50 in a few forums a week or 2 ago and noticed several threads that were hidden (possibly 40 to 50 - I didn't count but it seemed like it was that many). I assume many of those had to do with the mass spamming that happened a month ago. However, I don't believe the 'technical issues' have anything to do with that.

I suspicion it has to do with their new coding which is creating problems with certain characters, like quotes and ampersands. The other features, like bolding and color, appear to be lagging the forums. I wonder if the reason why they disabled F2P posting privileges was because they thought they could fix these issues faster without as many people using the forums.

Free players can still post here (obviously), Account Help, Tech Support, Developer Blogs, and a couple Social Clan Forums.
