Not only are we not being forced to buy anything, but Jagex is giving us 200 free runecoins. But of course, that's not enough for you people. You are so unexplainably ingorant to realize that Jagex is doing so much more than you think! They have multiple teams there, taking out bots, working on amazing graphical updates, coming up with new content every week, and all you ever do is complain! The fact that they probably need a little more money to pay their 400 employees doesn't mean you should accuse them of trying to steal from you! With so many players, you can't expect everyone to be happy, with their own personal version of the game. Jagex is trying to make people happy, and the people that are happy with most of Jagex's updates don't give as much feedback, so you all assume that the majority of you are against the update. Also, you should realize that if an update is big enough to have a beta, they'll probably release the update as a seperate version of the game, like Runescape Classic. Additionally, Jagex said that they were against Real World Trading to give players an unfair advantage. Cosmetic items will not give you an unfair advantage, just a new look. As for the Squeal of Fortune, there's no guarantee that you'll get a lucky dragon full helm (which isn't tradeable), nor the 200m prize.

If I'm supposed to just buy the prettiest items, emotes etc it takes half the reward out of working to earn things in game....don't the guys at Jagex realize that? And, by the way, I'm sick of all these very pretty new emotes etc being so intrusive - it's no fun having someone take off on the back of their tame demon or Pegasus once you've seen it once. After that it just clutters up the screen and messes up everyone else's game play. Am having serious doubts about sticking around.

Again, they're not forcing you to buy anything. Also, people buy fancy armor, clothes, and weapons through the Grand Exchange all the time. The prettiest thing just depends on your opinion, anyway.

Onyx, You have no clue as to why we hate these updates, nor could you ever understand, judgeing from the mindset you're in. So please, just stop.
This is real world trading, something jagex so desprately try's to combat against every day ( or so they say).
The community does NOT support real world trading and this is nothing short of it.
"every update comes from atleast one players suggestion"
THAT is the biggest load of bull**** that has ever been my displeasure to have roll across my vision.

In reply to Onyx Team 1's "The fact that they probably need a little more money to pay their 400 employees doesn't mean you should accuse them of trying to steal from you". It's not to pay the employees, its because of a change of business model since the investors came in. They aren't after making little and often and building a long term income stream, but look for a quick return of capital, quick profit, and to then move on. They could up the monthly subscription by a modest amount (I'd happily pay a little more on a regular basis), but why up the subs by £1 a month, when if they can get just 10% of people buying £5 a week they can make twice as much in the short term....and as I say venture capital ain't interested in the longer term.
