If you're logged into the game, you'll get a yellow announcement in your chat box every so often showing how long until the next event is. It'll be something like:
"The next Varrock Marathon will be starting in 5 minutes on World 1, south of the Lumberyard".

You get the reward once you get to the last checkpoint (no cheating, you have to go through all of them! :P )

I just did one of the F2P Varrock Marathons and it was so adorable how everyone was so excited about it, haha. Time to do a P2P one now. :D

I just finished an Edgeville (wild) marathon. Very laggy and a bit dangerous, but did it in 13m 54s and got some good Constitution XP for the trouble. Not bad, just very slow since I had to keep walking.
The yellow announcements are very hard to read on the offwhite background in the chat. Also, there are no instructions or maps for the marathons. that is a bit annoying.
Haven't tried the other marathons or the actual games yet, but will try them soon. I had helped out doing pre-games stuff and got some points, so I don't think I need to push myself as hard for them right now.
I'll most likely post more once I've tried the other stuff. About to wait for the Varrock marathon.
Just a suggestion: Change the announcement font to something darker and change the worlds to less populated ones. Using over populated worlds for a large event is a bit much, to say the least.
Edit: Just completed Varock marathon in 10m 5s. Not bad, but got better rewards from the Edgeville/wild one. I guess since has more risk.
Edit 2: Just completed Morytania marathon in 13m 19s. Good XP also. Used many teleport methods for faster travel.
While waiting to do this one, I actually tried all 3 games. Cheese one was a bomb, but I didn't do bad on the others.
I didn't know that there was a limit on saved points, so I lost many by doing the marathons before I used some. Waste of my time to do the pre-games stuff since I pretty much lost all of those points. Why is there a 2500 limit??

Just did the Edgeville (wild) race in 10m 58s. Yeah it is a big slap in the face to all players to purposely put a race through the wild so that the pkers can get their jollies.
A bit sad that Jagex loves to placate the pkers and has so many things in there to force others in there. They think it livens the wild up. Well, since most pkers don't actually use the wild, Jagex wants it to look like it is actually being used instead of empty like it is on most worlds.
Oh well, I guess the penguin hunters aren't enough prey, they need to kill the Olympic athletes. Good thing this isn't the real world. There would be a great uproar to purposely send the racers through a dangerous warzone to entertain the killers.

Hello Mod Raven, I have been trying to contact Jagex for some time. On my account Today a Player Named " Alonzopown" walked by me stateing to me he would give me double the price for my Fish Mask. I just recently won this tradeable item on the squeal. And so, I traded " Alonzopown " the fish mask and he put 10million Gp in and we both accepted. After that the second trade screen appeared showing the fish mask given for 10million gp we both accepted, I lost my Fish Mask Which was Worth over 7 million gp and recieved 100 Thousand coins. I am soooooooo upset about this and extermely livid as well. I would like to report this as a bug and i would like to be contacted and reinversed for my fish mask.

The cheese wheel is very frustrating. It lags a lot even on low settings, and the fps is fine, but the B/s is constantly hitting 0 for several seconds according to the developers console, not to mention it doesn't even seem to respond well at all when it is not lagging, and I have the same problem during the head to head game. Have you even played the game?

FPS is fine but hitting 0 sporadically? There are some things you can try to improve that. Firstly make sure you're in one of the hardware accelerated display modes (OpenGL or DirectX), and not Software display mode. This allows your CPU and GPU to be utilised to render the game and of course improve performance:
1. ­ ­ ­Click the white spanner/wrench icon on the login screen
2. ­ ­ ­Select the button labelled Custom
3. ­ ­ ­Choose either OpenGL or DirectX
4. ­ ­ ­Confirm changes and then try to login
Secondly if you are using the client, you may want to allocate more memory to Java which will allow your computer to make sure of more system resources for Runescape (unfortunately this doesn't work with the browser). Here's how to do that:
1.­ ­ ­ Copy %USERPROFILE%\jagexcache\jagexlauncher\runescape into the address bar of My Computer, and open "runescape.prm" inside Notepad
2. ­ ­ ­Edit the line -Xmx256m to -Xmx512m or -Xmx1024m
3. ­ ­ ­Save the file and restart the client
