My membership is running out on the 26th.
I'm done with RuneScape. I decided to call it quits after the last update that introduced Solomon's General Store. In short, the game that I used to love no longer exists, and I feel that I speak for the community when I say I'm faced with a gigantic money monster. I don't mind paying increased subscription rates (over $6.00 USD compared to $4.99 initially) but when I need to pay additional costs in order to access FULL content that subscribing members deserve, i.e. the new cosmetic items, I feel betrayed.
This is just a pathetic attempt by Jagex (and their investors) to get former members to stay on a sinking ship. Updates, such as new quests, improved performance, and more skills, were what kept me paying to be a member. Bribery in the form of "bonus XP" drove me away.
Thanks for betraying your community, Jagex. I wish my membership ran out sooner.
