I'm so sorry Jagex. IVP must have you really bad. I'm guessing J Mods are banned from discussing it with players in any form on penalty of being fired.
You've had to drop to this to keep members when you shouldn't have to.
This wouldn't be necessary if SOF wasn't RWT buyable, and Runecoins weren't RWT buyable.
But I'm guessing we should blame IVP for that, and you can't even confirm or deny it without getting into trouble with them. Company policy, I guess.
My advice would be to cut IVP. You might lose a lot of investor money, but in the long term, you'll save the company and the game, because members will come back, and more members will join, happy in the knowledge you're not being forced by the bigger corporations to go against your own policies, thus lowering yourself to the level of RWT botting gold-farming companies.
I hope you sort it all out Jagex. I really do.

I don't understand why Jagex feels the need to release new updates every 24 hours (sometimes sooner). I have a feeling they are and have been a bit trigger happy, so to speak.
Put your guns down for a bit, please. And also I do NOT like the way the graphics look in the gielenor games update. It looks extremely cartoony and though i hate when people say runescape is turning into other games, it definitely looks like a completely different game.
I would like to see some kind of chart showing what all their revenue is going towards, because either their getting so much money they don't know what to do with themselves, or they're getting so little money that they're throwing free stuff in the air hoping people will turn their heads and catch it.
This reminds me of when a store is closing and you see the "EVERYTHING MUST GO!" signs all over the place.
I guess in conclusion to this update, Yea whatever sounds good, but stop looking so desperate for members. At the rate at which new accounts are being made, I see NO REASON why there needs to be all these promotions. Just make the game look attractive and you'll get plenty of new players and members continuing to pay their memberships. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM CARTOON-LIKE GRAPHICS.
Man, I hope 2013 will be a lot more laid back. They should be spending money on advertisements outside of runescape. I don't think i've ever seen a runescape ad on tv.
another thought, can't we make the squeal like a once a year thing? or only when players complete quests? or only holidays? and remove the ability to buy squeals. I am fine with the solomon's general store (love the mining emote), just add content to that feature, and pull back the squeal. There's just too much squealing going on.
P.s. I've been playing RS for over 7 years

I still boycott the Squeal of Real World Trade, and will not use any "free" spins until you stop selling xp, gp, or other in-game advantages. Trying to bribe me with more "free" spins, in order to boost your faked numbers on player support for the SoF, won't change it.
I won't accept your bribes - just that you sold out doesn't mean all players will.
Thanks for the xp, thanks for great content, and I do not mind the new cosmetic items store at all: The day the SoF is gone (at least xp/gp/other advantages RWT part), I'll celebrate that with a nice purchase there.
Until then: Put all 'free spins' where the air quality is questionable. I won't touch them, and am offended by the continued contempt you show for your players' opinions on the SoF.
Get it into your skulls:
We.
Still.
Don't.
Want.
The.
Squeal.
Of.
RWT.
Period.

The items are free people, we don't need to spend money in Solomons or on the SoF at all...so this is only a money-making ploy IF those stupid enough to buy spins or rune-coins BUY them!!! The stuff they listed is stuff members get for FREE, again we DO NOT have to spend money other than membership price to get the items!!

Free experience points are fine cause I'm sure most people can get 700k+ xp in one month if they're member anyway. The spins don't really make that much of a difference. It'll be nice if you get some lucky spins with the extra chances but the CHOOSE YOUR FATE items CANNOT give you unfair advantages in the game or the game's integrity just went down by a lot. Pay to be good? Those games never last long...The whole game play becomes rigged and some people dump huge amounts of cash to become better than everyone else and the people who just want to enjoy the game suffer because of it...similar to what is already happening with all those websites selling gold...that's just unfair. Now you see low levels with skillcapes in prayer, smith and all those other difficult skills to train or used to be hard to train...Skillcapes will soon be meaningless and maxed capes will soon be too...

Nice! Very nice! Toooo nice perhaps?
A free treat is always welcome. Yet, treats and specials and events every 5th minute?
Enjoying Runescape, friends here and the emense options of gameplay,
still I fear all these "free (or almost free) " specials may corrupt the game.
Oldfashioned? Me? Yes! I care much for trad. ADD-rules.
You have to do the job to get to where you'd like to go... ..it was.
Developement/progress of RS as a game is outstanding, surely...
..yet again: While there are obviously great improvements in gameplay,
there's a twist towards "gold" to the owners of Gueilinor.
To become a "Hero" is less depending on player-skill than "buy'n" experience.
I may be wrong. I even hope I am :0)
To all of you: I care much for my friends in Gielinor and I'm lookin' forward to meet more. Take care / stay safe / have FUN! :0)
Isa.
