"Selling to the Yanks first?Jagex you are a British company, granted owned by Americans, but where is your loyalty?? ****** *******."
First, they're selling to the best buying demographs out there. British players aren't the most common source of income on that front, so the US got first dibs.
However, as an equal example, Japan and their releases of many of their video games and consoles are released in Japan because those that live there are more likely to buy them on day one, and then continue profusely afterwards. US isn't as likely because we're stubborn.
And to answer those that have said that this is bad, how are cosmetic things bad? And the odds of someone actually getting something worthwhile on the SoF is nigh impossible.
I'd like to throw it out there that Riot Games and their game League of Legends employs a /very/ similar tactic... players that pay for these sorts of things get cosmetic benefits more often than not. Granted, you can buy champions and exp boosts, but that would almost be a waste of the points spent if you don't buy the special skins for your favorite champions.
Solomon's general store I see in the very same light as League of Legend's skin store; cosmetic, and for ***** and giggles.
