I fail to see how this will benefit the economy when you are pumping even more money into the game. Disappointing Jagex, disappointing

Jagex are not adding additional gold into the game economy with bonds - instead players are being offered an alternative way to purchase membership and other benefits within the game with their current gold.

well i can see why its a good idea, but i can see also why its not.

Ppl wil buy it from jagex cuz its legal, but jagex is now selling their own gp.

BUT there will be more members in game and ppl wil have a goal to get ingame cash to gain membership who aren't able to buy membership or whatever.

Before i go rant this more i wait for a few days cuz it can actual be a good solution.

Disgusting. Jagex you are literally selling gold. In a few months, the bonds will disappear in favor of a gp dispensary. Mark my words.

To be clear Jagex are not selling gold and have no intention to do so. Introducing Bonds gives players the ability to trade their in-game items in exchange for membership, RuneCoins, RuneFest tickets etc.

im a little confused, if we trade in these bonds gotten with in game money in for membership spins and runecoins, how does jagex profit? this is the part im not sure of

We want to ensure the long term health of the game and hope to see more members within the game worlds as a result of introducing bonds as we want to see as many players as possible have the opportunity to enjoy the members content.

hmm i like this update it seems great for the community as a whole, but im not sure i see how this will stop the amount of gold coming into the game. From what i've gathered the bonds will help players benefit in useing in game gold for items, but to obtain bonds real money must be used, so no cash will be leaving the game for buying the bonds just circulating more. which means the game will still have cash flowing in with none leaving, or am i not understanding/over read something? THANKS! ahead for any responses to this.

This is the main reason I haven't played the main game in over a year, ' we're strictly against gold-farming and real-world trading ', yet bonds can be BOUGHT and TRADED for INGAME items, literally converting money into Runescape gold, but via using ANOTHER item that's coded into the game to make it appear as though it's not RWT. The gold-farming probably won't be affected by this, as bots could easily buy bonds with ingame money and use it to get free membership - that's basically letting the bots earn MORE profit or about on par as what they did before.
Plus, a massive chunk of real money created from ingame gp is on the oldschool servers and should pose as big a threat to the community, and have at least half the attention for the RWT/Gold-farming problem going on in general.

One certain scenario could be that a bot uses third-party software to make 100m over a duration of time. A person who BUYS gold could easily, and now
not against the rules
buy say 15 ' Bonds ' and exchange it for this ingame money with incredible ease and no possibility of being banned, unless a moderator was watching the entire transaction.
- if this is going to be done, only allow a certain amount of bonds to be bought over a month or similar, and I still don't see why bots can't directly sell gold on a gold-farming website and make the average profit as before. Bots sell gold for money - people buy gold for money, it won't stop because a new form of currency is being introduced.
