Passing over it as such is just as detrimental.

Let me boil it down to the simplest terms I can for all you rock-headed and ignorant folk;
This is a game, and the point of a game is to enjoy it.
Different people enjoy different things.
Everyone should be allowed their enjoyment so long as it does not negatively impact others.

This is how I play.
Respect it and shut up.

Making the bonus exp optional will in no way negatively affect those of you who want it in any skill or whom simply don't care, and making the change from the developer's side can't possibly take more then 5 man hours, unless they are terrible at their job.

If you think I'm making such a big deal about something you think is nothing, for one, you disgust me. Learn to respect the play styles of others.
Play your way and I'll play mine, and fight to try and keep it as comfortable for myself as possible.

When my desires start to infringe on how you play, then you can chime in.
Until then, kindly shut up.

heres a tip if u want respect don't make your argument so personal and tell people to shut up.

There's two reasons that make sense for why one would avoid free bonus xp:

- If this were like 07 rs and you were a pure that wanted to keep your defense lvl 1 so you'd have the highest possible att/str for your combat level.

- Or if you actually want skilling to take longer for some reason, someone that would rather sit at their computer mindlessly clicking than be doing something productive (irl or not)

Outside of that i'd be very interested to hear a good reason. Jagex clearly couldn't come up with one..

Marcy respect, unfortunately, is not a one way street. If you want your specific play style to be respected, you might want to explain it instead of railing on people when they aren't immediately on board with your opinions.

Furthermore, why not post a thread in the suggested content forums? It's not as if you're the only person who wants bonus XP to be toggled as optional and I'm sure you could get quite a bit more positive feedback if you set yourself up there, instead of wasting your time on this thread.

I don't want respect for myself personally, if anyone had actually read and comprehended.
I want respect for everyone's opinion, especially when how it comes to how one plays the game, seeing as this abhorrent concept of efficiency seems to rule everyone's minds.

Your first example is moot thanks to the EoC update of allowing you to more precisely control what combat exp you gain, regardless of what weapon you have equipped.

When it comes to the second example, and what I am arguing for, it has more to do with personal preference.
I am highly DIY in my attitude and play style.
I do not want and diligently avoid bonus exp in gathering skills.

Again, most people are as open-minded as a rock when it comes to considering that other people play differently.
And also again, making this random bonus exp optional will not negatively impact the other camp.

What qualifies as a, "good reason", is different for everyone.
Keep that in mind.

Meanwhile, I will continue to react however I want to ignorant folk that have the time to respond with their outlook, but not to consider that such an outlook is not shared by every bloody person on the planet.

I'm no stranger to the suggestions forum.
And I in no way consider this thread a waste, seeing as these threads are made specifically to look at for feedback, minor or major as it may be, even if they just skim most posts.

I have a rather large list I intend to post for the new year anyways.
Would be interesting to see how much more I can get into the game.
