A prestige system?
Get Real!
I voted No.
The flaw with a prestige system in runescape is that people with countless, COUNTLESS hours of actual game play, time invested in making money, gathering items, and taking the time out to mingle with clanmates and friends will just go to waste. The idea of a Maxed out skill is just that, MAXED OUT!
200M = worthless since exp gain is literally easier than ever now.
Who in their right mind would want to redo their 99's just to "showboat"? Comp capes already show their dedication/no-life-playstyle of this game as it is.
Look at this account for example...
I play quite a long stretch between sleep, and while at work on down-times, and on my days off when the Mrs has the youngster in her care.
Look, if you're going to add a prestige system, MAKE IT WORTHWHILE!
Other games have a prestige systems that actually work. Look at White Knight Chronicles 1 & 2. The "rebirth" system allows players to beef up their character even MORE to make it more appealing to questing parties. For runescape, the idea of enabling prestige to go along with say the inventor skill and unlocking the potential to create gear that requires 99 + prestige in order to wield/use it. (not a great example, but you get the idea)
Look...if players that spent 4 months on getting to 99 mining, prestige and have to spend another 4 months getting their...don't you think that's just counter-productive? I do. The logic behind this idea is heavily flawed and not worth even trying to attain.
Not to mention, there are a LOT of things within some of the skills that are massively flawed like the "grind" we have to do after hitting 77. EXP is out of balance from that point in some skills and this makes for an extremely tedious grind...especially with mining and smithing...NOT TO MENTION DIVINATION! Egh
Who in their RIGHT MINDS would want to train divination from 1 - 99 again with as horrible as the xp rates currently are? I KNOW FOR A FACT no one would!
So, No.
